How do you store you logging/tow chain?

I painted my chains orange makes a big difference in finding them after I lay them down. When paint wears off just hit them again.
I use baby blue. Still visible in the Fall.

I'm not one to carry chains just for the sake of carrying chains. Mine hang in the shop for automotive body and frame work. If I plan to do any pulling with the tractor or dozer, I'll throw what I need in the tool box before I head out. Carrying around a chain all the time just adds to things that will rust down here. :)

Kinda where I ended up, after seriously considering onboard storage. But some of the mods in this thread are pretty cool! And it's not always predictable where you'll be when you need a chain!

I've just been throwing the chains into a 5-gal bucket as needed and carrying it in the loader bucket, but that does tie up the FEL. The Harbor Freight riggers bag is probably where I'll end up. Canvas Riggers Bag Plenty big enough for a couple of chains, and I can set it on the floor of the cab when I need to head out with it. Can't do that with a 5-gal bucket. Here's another: Round Canvas Bag

LOL... I sometimes need a compressor and/or generator, jack, post hole digger, shovel, weed burner, trimmers, chain saw and ladder but I'm not going to carry those around all the time either. Crips, you guys might be better off adding a hitch ball and pulling a trailer around with all the stuff you MIGHT need when you hit the field. :)

When I fire up one of the tractors or field truck, I have a specific task in mind that I need to complete. I don't just go driving around looking for things to do and carry every tool in the shed. :confused2:

But you're right in that some of the storage posts show some great ideas and craftsmanship. For that, I applaud. :drink:

I'm the same way. Lots of cool ideas here though. :)

Since we use the front bucket much more often that the back hoe bucket, we tend to carry our in the back bucket.

Way to neat Terry :D Probably because you have nice storage like that rack. Just added another rainy day project to my list. Thanks gg

Haha. Don't know about your locale, but it's raining here today. :)
