If it had been in perfect condition, it might have been worth it. I suppose shells are available, although I don't recall seeing any of late...12 and 20 are plentiful though. If you have a 28 gauge, shells probably are a challenge. I recently bought a 20 gauge Winchester Model 12, manufactured in 1937; very good condition. Twenty gauges you don't see every day, especially for $250.
If it had been in decent shape I would have bought it. The blueing was all worn off, so I might have paid 70 if it worked.
I would like a side by side 16 gauge Stevens, but probably wouldn't like the price.I left home one day without shells for my 20, and rather than buy yet another box I picked up a New England Firearms 28. I usually buy a box of shells at Dick's in early fall else they won't have any.
