That is America here. You don't buy what you need. You buy what you want. It keeps the economy running. I drive only second hand cars but I have a bicycle worth more than most cars I have ever owned.
My wife's secretary always drove a better car than she did. She lived in old dinky house with dinky yard but traded in her low miles car in pristine condition every two years to get new one. I guess it was only nice thing she owned. It put strain on her finances but made her happy.
If the guy can afford 400 HP truck so be it. Happiness is worth something.
Friend of mine let me drive his money pit highly modified Audi TT. It put a big smile on my face to mash the pedal making trees along the road looking like a picket fence. Would I like to have one of those. For sure. But I am cheap I guess. So I understand why 400 HP PU is fun to have.
