Brandi---We're down to just one dog now, Chili, and she's 14 and has slowed way down. She sleeps a lot now, but she is one of the best dogs I ever had. She just showed up one day out in the pasture and followed me up to the house. She looked like a puppy, but when we took her to the Vet he said she was 2 years old. The other 2 dogs we had at the time actually house-broke her for us.....she's that smart. She had been abandoned by someone and living on her own for I don't know how long, so she's always had hunting talent, and has always dragged something up to prove she still had her hunting skills. I am very partial to mixed-breeds. She has been good with little kids, specially the Grand kids.
We've got her on expensive feed that we get from the Vet, and she's lost some weight and we're just going to keep her comfortable and for as long as we can. The only sure time I can get her up and to go outside is when Denise comes home from work, to go out for her daily roll in the grass.
I've heard that you only get a few really good dogs in your lifetime, but I've had more than my share.
