I drove up near you to Wills Point to look at a Sumitomo s160.

Was that to the Tractor Ranch on 20? He used to be in Sunnyvale and that's where who I bought my backhoe from. I've been back a few times, but haven't found anything that I could afford, or live without.

Eddie,
Yep, it was the Tractor Ranch. Saw the Case 9007 there. They have a nice spread and some awesome little crawlers! That sure is some sandy soil there. Where did you get your dozer?

He's not Booger, but he is a close second. Tucker on the CAT's track.jpg He laid on the Cat's track last night while I change hyd. oil and cleaned the strainer. His name is Tucker, my friend and renter's dog. I am gonna get a half brother to him. Right now the little guy is 4 weeks old.

Now, Brandi, that looks like a dog worth having!

.
Yeah, he's a good puppy. Gave him a few nicknames. "Goober Puppy" is one. "Move" is his latest nickname. He is so attached and in your face, he gets in your way draining oil and even gets some on him.

Brandi--It's always the best getting acquainted with a new puppy. I don't know that I've ever Lubed one.

Brandi---We're down to just one dog now, Chili, and she's 14 and has slowed way down. She sleeps a lot now, but she is one of the best dogs I ever had. She just showed up one day out in the pasture and followed me up to the house. She looked like a puppy, but when we took her to the Vet he said she was 2 years old. The other 2 dogs we had at the time actually house-broke her for us.....she's that smart. She had been abandoned by someone and living on her own for I don't know how long, so she's always had hunting talent, and has always dragged something up to prove she still had her hunting skills. I am very partial to mixed-breeds. She has been good with little kids, specially the Grand kids.

We've got her on expensive feed that we get from the Vet, and she's lost some weight and we're just going to keep her comfortable and for as long as we can. The only sure time I can get her up and to go outside is when Denise comes home from work, to go out for her daily roll in the grass.

I've heard that you only get a few really good dogs in your lifetime, but I've had more than my share.

My neighbor has a beautiful blonde female husky with bright blue eyes. She has had a tough life her first year or so, getting hit by cars but surviving. He claims that she is OUR dog and that they just feed her for us. When there is lightning or gunfire she gets scared and begs to get in our barn. I usually let her, but sometimes she smells horrifically bad.....

The Austin weather man says the normal week of freezing weather occurs about the 3rd or 4th week of November down here. Hope not. But I do hope for some hard freezes come Jan and Feb.

I have a gardening question. Before the rains started, I tried my best to break up the concrete clay in the garden but not much luck. Disgusted, I did not plant a fall garden. But I did have a 10 lb sack of pinto beans that got some weevils in it so I played johnny appleseed and threw them in the garden because supposedly, legumes ADD nitrogen and I figured nothing to lose. The beans sprouted and I have a wonderful cover crop about a foot tall right now. The question is, when should I till them in? Should I let some grow to maturity if it doesn't freeze down here? I know beans need heat to prosper. I'm just trying to decide when to till them in for maximum effect of "adding green" to compost and hopefully nitrogen too. With all the rains, it is too muddy to do right now even if I wanted to. So the rain will decide when it gets done more than likely.

Kyle,
I have had to take the backhoe bucket teeth to loosen up my friend's garden topsoil enough for his front tine tiller to work.

Charlie,
Yep, the best dogs pick us and not us picking them.

Here he is laying on the CAT's tracks, Saturday afternoon. Tucker Laying on CAT Tracks 2.jpgTucker Laying on CAT Tracks.jpg He sure likes to hang with me. That is fresh dirt on the tracks. I finally couldn't wait any longer and took it over to play near the pond, eh........dig up a huge oak truck I topped last August.

I had originally took it outside to take photos of the decals I put on the door. Chloe's CAT 5.jpgChloe's CAT 4.jpg Chloe is my Grand daughter's name. Tucker, like Booger, is a camera hound. No pun intended!

Winter finally showed itself 0500 and it's 32* outside. Had the wood burning stove working last night. I do love a nice fire going downstairs. A wood burning stove makes my Pyromania socially acceptable.

Had to go to Dallas yesterday to get all the stuff for the Antipasto for Thanksgiving. Quick trip left at 0700 got to Jimmy's at 0900. Back on the road about 0940 and back home at 1120. Not a bad trip when you can miss the traffic and never get near a Shopping Center.

Charlie, you did about as much driving yesterday as I did. We went south through Dallas to Hillsboro, had lunch there at the Lone Star Café with daughter, son-in-law, granddaughter, and son-in-law's nephew, then brought daughter and granddaughter back through Ft. Worth to drop granddaughter off to spend the night with a friend. Then we'll get both of those little girls today to spend the night here, then granddaughter's friend's mother will come visit and get her tomorrow. Son-in-law has to work 3 days this week, so he'll come up Wednesday evening, I've got to cook turkey and ham, teach 10 year old granddaughter to make deviled eggs, etc., then the other daughter and son-in-law will be here Thanksgiving Day, and Sunday (week from today) they all go home and life returns to normal around here (I hope).
