YEAHAWWWW!!At about 0530 the sky opened up and really started pouring. Looks like it's going to stay around for 3-4 days. We'll check the gauge when we get a little light outside. Hope everybody gets some of this today.

Yep, Charlie, tiny sprinkles started here about 1:00 p.m. yesterday and gradually built up until it was heavy rain at times and very light other times. So I went out about 15 minutes ago and poured about 3.35" out of my gauge. We're back to very light sprinkles right now, but as you said, NWS says it'll stay around right on through the weekend. Unfortunately, the NWS radar is out of commission right now with an antenna problem, their website says.

We have had only an inch of slow soaking rain in the past 24 hours. I suspect we will get a lot more in the next few days.

Looks like am far enough east to miss most of it.. which is fine by me.. I have had my share of rain this summer and fall.. just now drying out.. Good luck to everyone else,, cause it looks like it going to be a stormy week end for west and north Texas..

Well it has been about 12 hrs. since the rain started and I've got 4 inches in the rain gauge. Still raining and some thunder. Looks like this is going to be here till the remnants of the Hurricane get to us. I hope that dies down a lot.

We went down FM 2449 to the Grapevine Mills Outlet Mall this morning about 9:30 a.m. in a pretty good shower. Then while we were in the mall, it became a heavy rain, but quit about noon. So when we started home, a pretty good section of FM 2449 was under water and police cars were re-routing traffic. We got home about 12:30 p.m., I was up to 4.2" but it hasn't rained since noon. HOWEVER, the NWS radar makes it appear that we'll be getting more rain very shortly.

Somewhere north of 5 inches here, rain gauge overflowed.

We only had 1" as of 12:30am when left house been on call outs all night. Have had a lot of heavy rain since. My buddies little further north had 14" and that was late yesterday. Lots of vehicles in fairfield since they shut I-45 down...

I haven't checked the rain gauge yet this morning, and it is still raining very steady. By now the gauge has overflowed. I have a Farmlog app on my computer that gives me a rain total on my land and this morning it says from 5am yesterday till 7am this morning we've gotten 8.82 inches of rain.

When it gets a little lighter out I'll go out and check what the creeks look like.

Before we moved back to town, we lived in Navarro County, about 20 miles west of Corsicana and across the road from Navarro Mills Lake. The TV news this morning says Corsicana has gotten 18.07 inches of rain and Navarro Mills Lake is up 10.5 feet.

4" over night, that makes a total of 5" for us, and thankfully a lot of it has soaked in instead of just running off. I pray for those in areas of flooding.

Yessir, as of 6:30 a.m. today I was at 5.73", still getting a very light sprinkle, but more in the forecast.

I spoke to my brother this morning, we live on the same old home place, and we've had over 10 inches now. He's retired and emptied his rain gauge before it ran over. Pounds are fillling/filled up nicely. Creek will probably be over the road before the days over.

I got less than quarter of inches so far.. I can live with that.. but it is headed east along the coast.. so rest of the day and tomorrow rain forecasted for here.. Lou

Congratulations on the excavator!!!! Last I remember you where leaning towards getting a bobcat. What made you decide on this one?

Eddie,
I was looking for an ex in the 14,000 to 16,000 pound range and under $20,000. I drove up near you to Wills Point to look at a Sumitomo s160. It needed more TLC and dollars than I wanted to give. Then a Case 9007 and didn't like it. Then drove over to Rustin La. to look at a Cat E70B that should be sold for salvage parts. This one was in Houston and clean and had nothing one person turning wrenches could not fix. She weighs 15,200 pounds and has a 6 foot ( 5'11") stick on her, which gets me down 13.5 feet and a reach of 20'5". Now I just need a Ford 800 with a Cummins and a dump bed!
Maybe next tax refund? I'm looking now. Been some nice RED ones going at RB Auctions.
hugs, Brandi

And the rain just keeps on coming. Total from Fri 5am till Sun 3am is 10.92, but maybe the huge downpours are done. I've seen this much rain here before, but, a couple of years ago they reworked the drainage on our FM road and so far that's seems to be what is keeping the water off of the roads. Sure hope it continues to work.

You're gettin' ahead of me, Charlie. We got a little more last night, but that just brings us up to 6.08".
