AR 15

This implies a requirement to "register" firearms. Is this the case in Ohio?

It doesn't imply that and have no idea how you twisted it into that.

You buy ammo, search the web, and post on forums like these.

Heck if I spend a few minutes googling about something, many websites have ads about that what I was just searching for. They know what we look up, they know what we post, they know what we buy. While they may not know every single gun a person owns, they have a good idea IMO.

I interpret this statement to mean that there exists some kind of "registration" requirement and you are somehow skirting it: "Sure, they may not know of ALL the guns I have that are unregistered, but I am sure they know about quite a few." No need to get your knickers in a knot.

I might add that a pet peeve of mine is that any modern-day novel one reads implies that firearm registration is an everyday, normal occurrence and a valuable tool in crime solving. Neither is the case, of course, but I view it as a no-too-subtle form of conditioning for some not-too-distant upcoming crackpot registration scheme.

Your reading comprehensions skills leave a lot to be desired then.

We dont have registration on private party stuff. But someone who buys 5.56 ammo, does alot of AR15 searches, asks a lot of questions about customizing an AR on gun forums..........2+2......they own an AR. THATS what I am implying.

If you moniter someones internet searches, and observe what ammo they buy, you can get a pretty good idea what they have. You think that capability dont exist?

Google and Facebook. I look for a 13mm tap on Google one day, next day in my Facebook feed are machine tool ads.

Data you choose to gather gets mined by programs continuously... any IP address stream can generate a fairly accurate demographic profile of the user(s)... thus the value to advertisers looking for their candidates. This thread has reinforced ammunition, tractor, firearms, outdoor gear and apparel, and hit on second amendment talk as well--for respondents and viewers. Its the nature of the network.

And we are foolish to think the govt isnt mining data to have an idea what we do, and what we own. They probably know what I am going to buy next before I have even thought about it
