Just wondering how many of you have CB radios mounted in your tractors

Some of our tractors have CB radios. Some combines / trucks also use CB radios. Works well most locations, but with cell phones, CB are declining for some applications.

I had one in the gator for a few years but there was never anyone to talk to besides "skip" ,,, and he wasn't very dependable.

I have one in my truck, and if I get an old tabletop unit going for in the house, I'll put an extra one I have on the tractor.

Got one in my truck and one on my 4 wheeler.......we got lots of logging roads........use them all the time.

None on the tractor.... but I got two-three in boxes in the basement. :confused3: Just don't need them anymore. Farm is too far from house to be worth it. Cell phone works (almost) better. Maybe some day if we move out to the farm it would be fun to have one in the house and on the machine, but even then, probably not. Maybe if I still had a cabbed tractor.

We have CB's on all of our ride on equipment except the BX2370. Haven't found a good place to put it. We used to have more equipment and CB's. We don't use the CB's like we did 10 years ago. Almost always have my cell phone on me, but to use the CB, it has to be turned on and you have to be on or near the machine.

one reason I asked is, I cannot hear my cell phone ring...I do carry it when I'm operating in the field. I was wondering if a CB might be a better option.

Roy place the cell phone on vibrate. Remember there used to be bag phones. innovate a new location

Roy place the cell phone on vibrate.

Your phone must vibrate harder than mine, as I usually can't tell the difference between it and the normal oscillation of the tractor.

If you can't hear/feel a cell phone ring, doubt you'd hear someone holler for ya on a CB either.

I agree. I miss calls all the time.

For me at least, it's because my phone is in my jeans pocket. A CB would probably be heard. But sometimes I'd rather not be disturbed anyway. So I'll stick with the Cell Phone. :)

I picked these up for when I'm tractoring. They vibrate when the phone rings and are also great for listening to tunes from your phone. The mic does pick up too much noise from the tractor to talk on them with it running, even at idle.

They do require a phone with Bluetooth.

We connect an external speaker to the CB, it is plenty loud. I'll try to get a pic of the setup on our ford 3000.

Put it on vibrate and stick it in your pants

pocket.

I work in and extremely loud environment and many of my coworkers us those. Seem to like them. They sit nice against their collar bones under their shirt.

Just and ordinary $7 set of earbud headphones will allow you to hear that phone ring, and you can play music from it as well.. Not a whole lot of investment. They also act as hearing protection from the tractor also.
