Tractor
Kioti CK2510hst
well, I finally pulled the trigger on a tractor and took delivery of the 2510hst last Tuesday. I really like the tractor so far! I am new to tractors, so I have a few questions that ya'll might be able to help me with.

1. all the lights do not light up on the instrument panel(ex. L,H,the four wheel drive light, hazard) that's all I've noticed so far. Are these supposed to light up when they are in use?

2. it chatters pretty loud especially when first cranked up. like I said, I'm new to tractors, so It could be perfectly normal and I'm just paranoid. the chatter doesn't bother me, i just want to make sure I'm doing everything right as far as the break-in period. I put a few hours on it this weekend doing some dirt work and ran it mostly in Low at around 2200-2400 rpm's, is that normal? should I bump it down to below 2000 till the first 50 hours?

3. the steering wheel doesn't seem to want to stay lined up with the tires. when the tractor is turned off I can line it up where its center with the front tires and the tires wont move, but when i go to drive it around it eventually becomes off center. not sure if this makes sense. its kinda an OCD thing with me. maybe I'm overthinking things.

4. can you buy factory add-ons(rear remotes, rear work light, etc.) from any resource other than the dealer?

I think that's about all I have for now. thanks for any replies.

I guess disregard question number 1. I just read another thread where 1965 pretty much had the same question. think I got my answer :)

#2- My Kioti engine has a fair amount diesel rattle. As far as RPM's, I think you are fine with what you are doing now.
#3- That is normal for hydraulic steering.

#3 Yup that's normal for hydraulic power steering. And iirc it is covered in the owners manual. At least i think i saw it in mine but I'm away from it right now so i can't check.

#4 you can find those extras but they will not be the exact same as the kioti. I added my own led work lights on my 2510. Two facing forward and one to the rear running off separate switches. I picked up the lights from Amazon for like 10 bucks a piece.

As for the rear remotes, i don't have any on mine, yet.... But i recall a thread somewhere around here where one of the hydro component dealers mentioned it actually being cheaper to but the parts from kioti.

Enjoy the new tractor, i have had mine for a year as of tomorrow and just turned 200hrs on it this morning.

Thanks for the replies, makes sense. Another question I have about fueling up, should I add any kind of additive at every fill?

I use power service white bottle in mine in the winter months. I haven't set up my 30 gallon barrel pump yet so i still fill up out of a 5 gallon can. I just add it into the can when i fill it.

Congrats on the purchase of the new CK2510. I have one also and the steering is just the same as yours so far as the free wheel at stop. One additional observation about steering for my tractor. Mine was a little squirrelly traveling down a road at top speed.(wait for break in for testing yours). The tractor seemed to wander slightly back and forth. I adjusted the steering ends per the owners manual and it seems to be lots better.

I believe the icon light up issue you speak of for instrument panel pertains to actions of your input such as operating in 4wd or brakes engaged. You will notice an engine icon that flashes while you first start up and a bit of rough running while icon flashes. That is normal and occurs with my ck 2510 also. I'm not sure just whas that is about but suspect it may be some computeer adjustment. Maybe somebody else who knows will commment.

After putting over 1600 hours on my hard working ck20 I purchased the new 2510. This one has a front snow blower, FEL. backhoe, cab and box blade along with a set of forks. I have about 180 hours on the ck 2510. It's my pride and joy.

Oh one more observation on the steering. It you have a bunch of weight with the FEL, your front steering will behave slower to respond.

good luck and you are going to love that tractor.

#1 Yes, most don't light up. However the hazards should. If they don't, then you have some kind of issue.

#2 Yes there is a decent amount of rattle, especially at low rpms. Unless it really sounds bad, probably normal.

#3 With hydraulic steering, the wheel will float off center, and is perfectly normal.

#4 Yes you can. Remotes and hydraulics are available, but not any cheaper than the dealer, so it's just better to go through him. Exception is the 3rd function on the loader, there is no factory set up from Kioti right now, so that has to be 3rd party. Worklights, I think Kioti offers a rear one, and that's it. I put together a 3 light setup from parts and lights from amazon, works great, I'll probably expand it to 5 lights soon. So except for remotes and factory options, there are plenty of 3rd party options out there for just about everything.
