2015 Chevy 2500 Towing Mirrors

Alright guys got a question about the towing mirrors I want to get for my 2015 2500HD. Truck came with standard black mirrors they are power and heated without turn signal...the towing mirrors I'm looking at getting are power/heated/ and have the turn signal in them...was wondering if my truck is wired for the turn signals?? Any Ideas??

They didn't use to be...The turn signals came with an auxiliary lighting package and they couldn't be added as an option. That may have changed in then post 2014 models. I'm a fan of signals in the mirrors too, have them on my current Denali.

When I bought my 2011 GMC new, I asked the dealer if they could add mirrors with signals---They checked into it and said it couldn't be done because of the lack of the auxiliary lighting package...That was a weird truck, loaded to the gills even with a 6.2 and didn't have that detail.

I did the same for my 08 GMC 2500HD. I had the dealer change the stock mirrors without turn signals on to the camper mirrors with turn signals when I bought it new. The turn signals do work. You can have the GM parts department look up the parts diagrams for a truck with each type of mirror to see if the wiring harness part numbers are the same. I still have the stock mirrors for the 08 if anyone needs a set.

Good to know, the dealer service department told me they couldn't do it...Maybe it was just my particular truck.

Am i correct in thinking your pickup was/ is a half ton? That may have something to do with it...

It will not work without additional wires. Basically if you don't have memory seats you don't have the right wires in the doors (don't ask me why GM used this combination). You can buy the correct wires from a dealership but I don't have the part numbers. There are some long threads covering this on GM-Trucks.com if you want to spend some time searching there.

This is what my dealership told me. It was supposedly gonna cost me around 1200 dollars at the dealership for harness, mirrors, and install! LUTT

There has been lots of talk about this on the duramaxforum.com site also. I also think a new harness was needed and somewhere there was parts numbers listed, seemed to be very costly to upgrade also. My 2500HD LTZ has the big power folding towing mirrors with turn signals and LED cargo lights.

Thanks for all the input...I just really hate that they put these cheap mirrors on a 3/4 ton truck knowing that most people that buy them are going to be towing with them...gonna call the dealer tomorrow and see what I can find out but probably gonna end up going with the power heated set without the signals

Are they just the type that fold or the extended ones. My brother tought me a trick on my 05 duramax that you could extend on one type. That for me snow plowing made them 10x better. My mom and her bf are running the extended set for towing huge stock trailers and said that they are better then the ones with bars
