3 point wood splitter

I like the idea of a PTO splitter to get rid of the extra engine to maintain. But I like to position the bucket of my FEL next to the splitter and load the split wood directly into the bucket to cart it off. What do those without an extra tractor do with the split wood to avoid the extra handling?

Here is my BX2660 running my pto driven splitter. I run around 1800rpm.

I load my firewood into a wagon or trailer, then split right off the wagon...NO lifting, I can roll the big ones right off my wagon onto the splitter beam,

Better yet, I actually cut my firewood OVER my wagon, so I don't have to lift them up onto it!

Getting back to the original question, the only 3 point splitter I know of that works well with low hydraulic flow is the PowerHorse 13 ton splitter I have on my JD 2320. I'm not sure if it is still being sold by Northern Tool. It works because it's a small cylinder (hence only 13 ton) and it's a two way splitter so you don't have to wait for the return. It has enough power for everything I split but I avoid the really large rounds because I don't want anything I can't lift.

If you can't deal with the limitations you will need to go to a stand alone or a PTO splitter.

I have a splitter that I ran off my BX22. It ran just fine for me and had a cycle time about 10 seconds +\-. That was more than fast enough for me to have to move and pick up logs. I believe if is a 18 ton. Mine ran off the back hoe loop. I imagine you could run yours off the front loader valve with some longer hoses. ..6 cord a year would be a cake walk.

Question: I have a 21 hsp hydro Kubota b7500, and was wondering if anyone can recommend a 3 pt wood splitter that will run reasonably fast (similar to a stand-alone splitter in the 20-ish ton range)? Also, can a 3 pt splitter be run off the loader's hydro's? I don't have rear remotes. I split about 6 cords a year, but am getting tired of maintaining multiple engines and I am trying to simplify, and tired of people borrowing and beating on my stand-alone.
Thank you in advance for any ideas you might have.

Ha, once you get the 3pt splitter, they will just want to borrow your tractor and the splitter!!!!
