49 this morning and headed to 60 today.

Well pump is back up and running again. Rope was retrieved and new was added. Interesting paddling 14' semi v aluminum boat. 2 people inside one unspooling rope and stopping every 50 feet to tie another one on in the wind. All with one ore power. Well we got it done anyways. Only way I could buy the quantity of rope local was at the new TSC in 50 ft packages. I guessed 250-300 feet. Bought 300 used 250. Can't complain at .17/ft.

Well TMA plans are to get last 2 barns ready to migrate.

Drew. Gravel is high down your way. Here it's under $10/ton plus trucking. I'm 25 miles or so and an independent guy will haul tri-axle for about $100/load. ~25 tons.

Ron beautiful pictures. At what elevation do you stay.

Anyone heard from MFW.

thanks Farmer. I'll use 15 bucks a ton delivered as a sanity check. very helpful.
sounds like he had two grand figured in his proposal to spread it. No thank you.
I have new heavy duty ETA rear blade and rake that are going to get some paint worked
off them on this job. but I will need a helper for the hand work.

I'm hoping he is having a very, very good time. Maybe the groom is too exhausted to type...;)

52 going to 72 and sunny

Wow Ron, do those pictures bring back memories. I met my first wife by working for her father as an equipment operator putting in the road through the Gila. Times were different then...

RS, do you want this to be a hobby or a business? How you approach it matters greatly. I warn you now as a business they will lose the allure and as a hobby you can only make enough to help supplement the cost of having them. And this is true in anything, from photography, silk screening, Art Design (those were my hobby turned business).

Drew, are you trying to corrupt these kids? Have you ever tried acupuncture for your shoulder?

Trying to figure out a way to get the aluminum intake runners cleaned of the carbon/oil gunk???

Try soaking them in water with some strong detergent like Dawn. Might take a couple days, but it should soften the hard deposits so they'll come off with a green Scotchbrite pad. Be cautious if you use Simple Green, as it will turn aluminum gray, especially if the concentration gets higher than 50%.

This motorcycle is being driven by a robot - Video - Technology

once you get past the advertising, this is pretty neat.

It's bad enough out there already with drivers texting, shaving, talking on their cell phones, etc. without having to worry about some automated thing-a-ma-bob who's creators never even considered that something called a motorcycle might be sharing the highways. Now we've got to dodge a cybernetic motorcycle, too?:confused2::confused3::thumbdown:

hey, I might be in the Bible Belt but they could likely corrupt me...;) Plus their fathers think it's a hoot.

Kev, that's a good idea. We used to have a delightful Texas lady chatting here and she was a specialized Vet who did acupuncture on horses. And it clearly worked.
She was the lady who promised to take me dancing in a real Dallas dance hall but I never made it there in my motorhome.
But she's still there, and my shoulder hurts, so maybe after the holidays Texas sure does sound warmer...

I wonder if Whipper would like me? He might be able to sniff out an "Easterner"...

Good Morning! 52F @ 6:45AM. A steady rain this morning. Showers continuing this afternoon. High 56F. Winds SE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 90%.
Wednesday Night 100 % Precip. / 0.8 in

Tonight, windy with periods of rain. Low 54F. SSE winds at 20 to 30 mph, increasing to 25 to 40 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall possibly over one inch. Winds could occasionally gust over 50 mph.

Looks like it'll hold off until about 10:30 this morning, plenty of time to get the bead blaster tarped over and take one last walk around the property looking for things that need getting in out of the weather. Might want to take a peek into the storage trailer, too, to make sure nothing important is left sitting on the floor. The windows and AC unit are known to leak a bit in high winds.

Yesterday's ride was much smoother with the low speed running issues addressed. Had to reset the idle mixture and opening to even get it to start, as it was running on overflow from the float bowls before. Nice ride up the canyon, but more traffic than usual for a weekday afternoon. Noticeably more passing power with the engine modifications, and the rings aren't even seated yet. Looks like I'll have plenty of time for the next round of cylinder head stud re-torquing and valve adjustments, as it's supposed to rain pretty much every day 'till Saturday, then again through Monday. It appears that the atmospheric river has found us finally, and we may get up to an inch and a half in the next day or so.

Happy Hump Day folks!

Time for twin 50's on the handlebars...
one way to get that slowpoke botdriver out of the way...
Or maybe a long stun stick, scramble his computers...:D

you live in a pretty area. When I zoom in with Google Maps Chico comes up, but then Paradise. Somehow Google thought Paradise CA was important enough to imbed it in every layer of cartography. Perhaps that's how they see the area. No wonder you live there...driving in the Plumas Forest?
