You can tell you are a long way from the Southern border. Down here every form you fill out is offered in English and Spanish. Almost all signs are posted in English and Spanish. I have to press #1 for English. In many cases if you are not Spanish speaking or at least bilingual you are not a viable job candidate. If we had a TRUE official language as do most countries, then we would only be required to offer things in English and not multiple language. Immigrants (legal and illegal) would/should be required to adapt to our language/culture and not the other way around as it is now.

Talking about back in the 1800's when they took the English or German vote . Not 2015.

Try Canada everywhere . Even though the majority of the provinces have no French population of note. Every government form is French and English. In Quebec businesses are fined for having signs in English.

Depends on who said it and in what spirit it was said. Kind of like you doing something really dumb and someone calls you a moron.
If it is your best friend, your reply is "shut up and hand me another beer."

All along the areas that don't get real winter, these little beauties abound. Now mind you they seldom mess with you if you don't mess with them, but dogs seems to be a delicacy for them. I have lived almost my entire life in the South and have seen gators since I was a kid (not too far from the Okefenokee Swamp and pretty much everywhere when I lived in Florida) but I will never get used to seeing a "prehistoric" creature in modern civilization.
