Cant get true high flow on small tractors. Not enough HP.

28 GPM @ 2500psi takes 48 HP JUST FOR THE PUMP. Good thing the toolcat is 61HP.

Best you can get from 30 HP is 17GPM, and that leaves NOTHING AT ALL left for driving the tractor around.

I'll take my Massey 1652 exactly as it is... But with:

The new Grammar seat on the new MF 17xx series,

A turbo, boosting that 3.0L to around 65 HP,

The Kubota HST+ trans,

The rear exterior "creep" buttons that JD just added,

A pop-up sunroof like on the TYM cab units,

Gearing to accommodate 12x16.5 front tires like on the LS (and Case-NH) units, instead of the 10x16.5 ...

The cruise function from the previous Kubota Lxx40 machines (The lever controls and adjusts speed),

The fold down visor from the Kioti cab units,

The strength and underbelly protection that my skid steer has,

Hydraulic controlled SSQA levers,

..... I think that's what would make me happy

You forgot the rear 3pt control to make hookup easier like the kioti has, or maybe you don't need it with a quick hitch.

Something I'm noticing in quite a few of the responses is about higher performance large tractor type outputs.

But the fact is . . the buying market has shifted greatly in the last 3 years. The large tractor and large output equipment has dropped in desire greatly as buyers by number have exploded in scut and small to mid cut sizes.

My point is . . . if wish lists are about what the market would seek and desire . . . shouldn't it be in the scut and early to mid cut categories ?

How often are you going to use max pressure? There is no reason why you can't stick a bigger motor in a tractor.

Dont know, but it has to be able to handle the max relief otherwise it would stall frequently. Max pressure it "could" make if the pump were too larger is an ever changing variable. Because avaliable HP is ever changing. Are you sitting still? Moving slow or fast? going uphill or down hill?

Hydraulics aint the only thing that requires power.

There is no reason why you can't stick a bigger motor in a tractor.

They do. In a given frame size there is often many HP levels. Sometimes a MFG will make the same identical tractor, and offer it with 65HP, 75HP, and 85HP.....buy the one you need. If you need more, next size tractor.

I started out my tractor search looking at tool cats. My take away was that after 1500 hours in Minnesota and the drive motors would begin spitting out error codes, and then I saw two different tool cat videos where the machine was stuck for no good reason, one in snow, another trying to drive up a low grade construction site.

A friend of mine just picked up a 5610 for a song to replace his skid loader after he smoked its engine for the third time.
