I saw an add for 2013 new Kubota L3560 HST with 9 hours at a Kubota dealership. Checked on Tractorhouse and noticed there are quite a few "new" 2013s, 2014s as well as 2015 L3560s still on dealer lots.

Called dealer whose original ad I had seen and he says they are great tractors but the price increase from 2012 model w/o Tier 4 has made them move a bit slower. Says he had two now down to one and want to clear it out.

I have been planning on buying a new B2650/3350 or maybe an L3301/3901...or maybe the smaller size L frame...this spring as the woods drys out :) I have always loved the "Grand" L but had quit looking at them as 1) may be a bit large for my first tractor and 2) price increase moved them to a large premium over other choices. Size has a number of considerations in terms of my uses...some advantage and some disadvantage (as is always true)...it also would require evaluation of my trailer (probably need to move to a dual axle) and maybe my tow vehicle...2004 Toyota Land Cruiser. Land Cruiser is now at 12 years and I have been beginning the "looking" process...maybe a Chev Canyon diesel would be good answer.

I any case...Price just under $25K w/ "standard loader and 7' bucket...not a cab unit. I sense a bit of negotiating room. I would guess the 9 hours have been people like me coming to the dealers lot and trying the tractor out...for 2-3 years. I trust the dealership in general but not sure if there should be other concerns for this type of use and outside storage for 2-3 years???

The dealer said regeneration not been much of a problem unless tractor operated at lower than recommended RPM...as that causes more carbon build-up??

Your thoughts and/or experience with L3560 HST Rops???

Thanks...Tom R

Sounds high IMHO.

You don't have nearly enough tow vehicle. The tractor weighs 3500 pounds stock. Add 1200 pounds for a loader. Add at least 1000 pounds for loaded tires. Add 500-1500 pounds for an implement. Add 2000 pounds for a trailer. The land cruiser is very very generously rated to tow 6500 pounds. I love my L3240 Grand. I haven't looked at the price difference, but IMO the Grand is worth every extra penny it cost.

I've had two Previous Kubota's before my now GrandL3540, it took me two to see what I have been missing. As 4570man said they are heaver because they lift more on the fef and three point and have extras that the standard L's don't. I just love my 3540 it does everything I need done. Best of luck to you.

Any concerns about "time in lot"?...ie more than 2 years on lot with 9 hours of "demos"?

Also, any comments on regeneration on the 3560s??

I agree the price may be a bit high...with 2015 3560s about $30K MSRP w/fel...maybe $27K Net.

What price would you think were a "good" deal for the 2013??

Any notable changes from 2013 to date?

Thanks...TMR

Thanks 4750Man...a new trailer and a new tow vehicle would be part of the decision...the tow vehicle is already part of current planning process.* TMR

Wouldn't worry about a few hours on the lot. 9 isn't a lot over two years by the time it starts and idles a few times even being moved around the lot. Probably better for it to be driven once in a while that to just sit.

I wouldn't worry a bit about 9 hours. When I get a project my tractor gets that kind of use in 3 days. I would be way more concerned with it sitting outside for 2 years.

The Chevy Colorado is rated to tow 7,600 pounds which is still too small for this package.

That^
Dried out hoses/tires and surface rust on hydrolic cylinders would be my concerns.
