Anyone have any manufacture recommendations for 120V spot and flood lights? LEDs sure seem to be the way to go for lighting. Wally World has 60W indoor/outdoor regular LED lights for $0.44 right now which gave me the thought of replacing my flood and spot lights.

Spot or flood? Are they the screw in standard socket or the dedicated rectangular head?

Screw in, standard socket. Just replace the old light bulbs.

Color temperature makes a BIG difference in perceived "brightness". I bought some 60W equivalent LED bulbs for the overhead bedroom light since that's what I usually get in incandescent. BANG! It was like looking at the sun. Too bright for a bedroom. :) I switched those out for 40W equivalent and it's good now. A color temperature of about 6,000K will appear bright-white while temps under 5,000K will appear on the yellow side like incandescent bulbs. You really can't just compare old wattage to new wattage equivalent when choosing LED bulbs. Compare Lumens and Color Temperature.

I currently have to Brinks LED flood lights that I have mixed reviews on. The light they put out is amazing, but they are so cheaply built that the light sensor to turn them on doesn't last more then a few weeks. I've returned them several times and when they quit working again, I'll go to another brand. I think they are the future, but finding quality is turning out to be the biggest challenge

Color temperature is new to me. I googled it and found this chart which makes sense.

I'll try to stop by ACE, I do want good LED spot and flood lamps. I just bought a house and there are 4 halogen outdoor flood lights and one sodium that I want to replace, plus add one more.

Indoors the kitchen had 800W of florescent tubes with another 300W of incandescent over the kitchen table. I already have those rooms down to about 60W total with LED. A vaulted ceiling had 1280W of incandescent alone and there were various indoor flood can lamps all over. The house has 400 Amp service and the previous owner must have had a stake in the power company. Shortly I should have plenty of capacity for a welder.

The interior lights we went with cree, love the color they produce. I can honestly say after redoing half the interior lights we were saving 20 a month. It really helped us push for getting the rest of the interior and then the outside.
I also like the led for security, the lights go on they are on, no warming up like the others.
Sign up for aces rewards program too, you will get a bit of $$ back from buying the lights.
