Had a good day, lunch with my buddies, some quick work at the shop, then home, surfing the web for a bit. Cabbage soup for dinner. Hopefully will warm upa bit, to melt off some ice, but we may not.

Well, I got the car running. The last few hours worth of work took me about 2 days. Up, down, under, up, down, under, climbing on top, doing a reach around many times on the backside of the motor against the firewall. It is running very well, praise the Lord. I had to remove a bunch of stuff including a bench to back her out of the garage. Kind of like Henry Ford when he got his first car running, he supposedly knocked part of the wall out to get it out. It was raining, lightning, and pouring down when I took it out. I need to fix the highbeam dimmer switch to get it inspected but otherwise, the motor purred like a gold wing engine.

Good morning all. After yesterdays relative calm we are back to high winds again. I must admit, it wasn't just Dog who was scared by the noise of everything blowing around. A wooden pallet came flying over and toppled a pile of bricks on our yard. The groans from a free standing 6' tall water tank had me rushing around to get in more water to pin it down to the ground before it too became airborne. I think it must have sprung a leak.

For the last few days the news from my home county of Yorkshire has been a never ending story of floods. Each day we hear of one or more big old stone built bridges that are being taken out by swollen rivers. Anticipating which bridge will go next has the TV crews guessing, though nowadays there always seems to be someone around with a phone camera. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TD6bQEpZLs

68 degrees going to 71 in heavy rain today, more than an inch predicted, almost two inches over next day or two. And the ground is so soggy already.

Going to put away Christmas decorations today and snagged a helper for this afternoon. She works for food...as in a nice dinner out.

Eric, so sad to see that nice old bridge crumble. Looks like Drew and Yorkshire both need new bridges. My little creek bridge continues to be under water, with about 4 inches depth flowing over it.

wow, that bridge won't last long if that keeps up and I'll bet you are getting more rain too.
Hmmm, maybe time to move the turtles back...that's my real barometer of heavy rain
