You're little tractor isn't going to set any speed records with a tiller. Patience my friend, patience. :)

You had me worried for a few minutes. I went down to the shop and took a picture. I wanted the reverse tine tiller, not the forward. I didn't research these at all, just bought what the dealer had in his yard (as far as model goes). What's wrong with the 0550 models?

Wow, that's a nice tiller. I have Tiller envy.. not going to lie! :licking:

Couple questions about tilling. How fast can you pull the tiller? I suppose it depends on the ground you are tilling??

Land Pride says 2 to 3 mph is about right. I would think you can pull it as fast as you can without bogging the tractor down and building up too much dirt between the tractor and tiller. You will have to try it to see how fast this will be, my guess is 1.0mph to 2.0mph.

Did your FEL and Snow Edge get a workout with this last winter storm? How'd it go?

A workout would be an undetstatement. We got by us about 11 inches of snow in the open amd 23 to 24 inches in the drifts. This isn't the preferred method for learning tractor winter snow removal on hills and slopes as the 1st time. If everything was straight and flat . . Its a piece of cake. But every sidewalk and driveway is inclined and has turns and the snow was wet underneath too . . So it wants to pack down.

But you adapt and learn. I like the snow edge quite well . . but clearing big snow with a bucket was never the plan. Problem was the plan was to have the new snowblower on the zero turn tractor for big snows and the weather surprised my timing plans of the holidays.

What I learned is that I am ever so pleased to have a differential lock on the Massey. I used it often when I was pushing piles of snow as big as the front half of the tractor. What I also learned is how good my decision was to have turf tires. Good traction . . But more importantly . . I can drive out on the yard everywhere which I did often because I have lots of continous 4 and 5 foot piles (or walls) of snow lining the entire driveway.

5 hours on the tractor yesterday and 2 more today. Toughest thing to remember about big snow and fel use . . With a plow you drop your blade and it follows the ground so it continously floats . . With the bucket and fel . . You manually float the inclines and declines and terrain movements. Getting pretty good at it now . . But its alot different than dirt work or plowing . . But I could go over the piles with the fel.

And you really get a chance to see the scut power moving big piles of snow. :)

I am amazed at how much a diff lock helps some people on here.

I pulled it with the L2550 in 1st gear for the first pass. After the first pass I take 1/2 width passes in 2nd gear. This was in plowed ground. If you didn't plow first it is 1st gear the whole time. With a HST you could pull it as fast as the tractor can handle it. I find I need to make two passes for best results, and making 1/2 width passes seems faster then 2 full width passes.

If I make two passes the second pass is made perpendicular to the first pass. The 1250rtr is a 4 tine / rotor tiller capable of 6.5 inch depth according to LP.

I use mine quite a bit because I have a steep hill I have to get up, just to get home most times I'm in the seat. But I am on steep property so I am probably in the tiny minority.

I frequently use mine on all 3 tractors. I too am on steep uneven property frequently.
