/ Stick Welding on Tractor Question #11
I regularly weld on trucks and equipment at work, with no issues, following the clean metal ground as close as possible to weld rule.

Says.... Made in China.... you sure it works????
Well I don't know, haven't used it yet. But hopefully it was made in the same factory as the Everlast welders. All their welders I've run have been perfect!:cool2:

Same here, never had any issues. However if your tractor or automobile has a computer onboard, (and what vehicle doesn't now), It would maybe be prudent to disconnect the battery even though I never have and haven't burned up anything. MY Chevy dealer cautioned me that my 2007 Silverado has over $5000 replacement cost in computers.

I always disconnect the battery when welding on any vehicle..Saw a dash go up in smoke on a 70's Chevy once..That made me a bit paranoid I guess.

.

You can still induce currents into the wiring harness with a disconnected batt.

If you want to protect the computer, then unplug the computer!
