Mine has never missed a beat. It's been a year or so. I use it for welding only or other shop tools. Mine is gas-only though(XP10000E).
I should have picked one up during that last sale. Looking like I might need it with this snowstorm

I felt bad for missing the $649 deal so got one on last $699 deal. Only use propane and has been running great. Use it on my Lincoln 210mp with a 50amp RV extension cord fitted to a 3 prong plug.

Thanks, that's a good data point!

To reduce the noise I often use mine around the corner of the building (50 foot 8ga extension cord).

I would not carry more that 6500W continuous on that "10,000" watt generator.
Why wouldn't you use only 6500W of the rated 8000W continuous rated load?

I wish I had found a deal like that when I bought my Generac XT1000E for over $1000 after tax 2 years ago. It has the same specs as this advertised one. I really cant say much about the
Generac since I have only ran it one time at purchase when I filled it with oil, started it up, checked electrical output then drained gas, ran carb dry and it has set for 2 years with no required use. Battery is kaput on it now so it needs a new one or I could just jump start it suppose.

Yeah who can weld that long anyway?

For a datapoint my welder with thickness settings at 3/8" requires 7200W and the XP10000E doesn't miss a beat putting that out. Can only guess if the 8,000W is a genuine rating but I do know it doesn't struggle to put out 7200w. No idea what the Amps are it tells me "21v & 370WFS". Sorry that's all I've got. Gary don't you have a pull-rope? Mine starts easily with the rope, which surprised me for 16 (?) Hp engine.

Got mine put together and running before Christmas. Fired right up on propane. Only problem with it, one of the legs was only tack welded to the frame in 2 places so it broke off. I will have to weld it on someday but a 3' 4x4 laid under that end of the frame keeps it level. I liked the solid rubber tires and how quit it is when running.

I am in the process of hooking up the 125v 30amp plug to a little control panel mounted on the generator.

Everything looks fine so far except the last connection; the wire going to the plug on the generator. I know which of the three poles are hot, but which of the other two poles are neutral and which one is ground? Stumped.

On the front of the plug I see a G next to a pole and another one has a W next to it and the third pole is plain.

The G pole is a bigger post with a little hook on the end and I assume is ground. The one with the W seems to be hot, or getting 120v from that to a ground anyway..

Any advice on how to differentiate the ground pole and the neutral pole.

Thanks
