36 and snowing...not sticking and should get up to 45.

Glad I don't have a stuck steering wheel, but it's nice that I'm learning a lot. That's what is good about TBN...always someone that knows how to tackle every problem.

Worked on busting out more of my creek's dam yesterday...my dog was pulling sticks out of it as fast as I was. Still some chain saw work to do once it dries out more, but for now got it flowing well through the opening I made.

Last half of birds arrive this morning. Never did get to start taxes yesterday. Maybe today. I dred taxes.

steady rain last night has stopped, literally rained for days on end, over an inch and a half added to yesterday's three plus so we got close to 5 inches of rain.
Time to check the front street ditches and see what delights are stuck in there. Cleaned the culverts out yesterday, knew I'd have to do it again.

Good morning! Not a cloud in the sky and I'm running with the big boys on the frigid temps this morning with 29˚. However the wind is shifting again and we will hit 60˚.

One of our forever Moderators here on TBN, Bird, started a thread in "Front Porch" last night. He is having Stent/bypass surgery this morning starting in 30 minutes. We wish him the best. The Good Morning group probably knows what diet I'll recommend for a permanent recovery.

I found out through sources that one of Austin's major Hospitals is adopting the Ornish plan in their "intensive" cardiac rehab. It has been medicare approved and has been successful in other hospitals.

Now Texas just has 2 cardiac rehabs that offer this intensive rehab, but lucky for Bird they are in the Dallas Area.

Good Morning! 41F @ 5:30 AM. Sunny to partly cloudy. High 61F. Winds light and variable.

The highest chance of precipitation in the next 10 days is only 20%, so we'll be high and dry here for the foreseeable future. North and west of here is seeing some improvement in their drought status, but here it's still extreme, the worst of the rankings. But if the dry spell had to come, it couldn't have picked a better time, as it fits perfectly with a pair of camping weekends over the next two weeks. :cool2:

Finished up the first of a pair of downed oaks yesterday, and sure have a lot of slash burning to do. A lot of limb wood made it into the firewood stack last time, and though it burns, it doesn't burn very cleanly and is a LOT more work to put up. So this time around that stuff is just going on the burn pile. I did get to try out the tractor forks on moving it, and I think it'll work a whole lot better than the 4-in-1 bucket.

OK, I use the muriatic acid in my pool to adjust PH.

You should be good to go then ...

Muriatic acid is nasty stuff and can cause severe burns (via fumes) of the respiratory tract and mucosa, as well as permanent blindness if you splash it in your eyes.

Needless to say, extreme safety precautions (respirator, full face shield, rubber gloves and apron) would probably be a wise idea.

Steel will flash rust after you rinse the muriatic acid off with water ... but it's possible to minimize this by working on a warm, sunny day ... or by using a hot water rinse that warms the metal up, so that the residual rinse water evaporates quickly. And you can always treat any minor flash rusting with phosphoric acid to convert the rust.

When working with muriatic acid, do it outside, in an area where there isn't anything you want to rust, because the fumes alone will cause ferrous metal to rust.
