Sawyer Rob clearly said TYM would not reimburse TYM dealers for warranty repairs on Cabelas branded tractors. 5 pages later no one has posted anything that refutes that statement which in itself is not unreasonable to anyone familiar with OEM contracts with authorized dealers.
If the "casual reader" can't understand Sawyer Robs post perhaps he should be less casual about his reading.

Until one month ago both brands would have each done their own warranty. TYM does their and Cabelas does theirs. I would guess that to be the same for new Holland and LS each doing their own. I doubt if a LS tractor owner brought their tractor into a New Holland dealer and wanted New Holland to pay for the warranty that they would. I would not blame the New Holland dealer for not doing it as they likely will not get paid for it. So if Sawyer R's information was from before Cabelas said they were getting out of the tractor business I don't doubt it at all. Cabelas only announced it the second week of January.
With the big companies news can be slow to be announced of any changes. I doubt if any of us here know how the contract was written up between Cabelas and TYM in Korea. Was there any pre set plans if things changed for Cabelas like they did??? It may be a few weeks before we hear what the final warranty plans will be on Cabelas tractors.
I have had very good luck with my TYM tractors. The 330 needed a shut off solenoid under warranty time and that was it. I am guessing $200 on that repair. Other than that I only had to replace a couple small parts and a work light. These would total about $75.00.
With the discounted prices Cabelas is selling them for and how mine have been warranty is not a top issue for me. Like my first tractor only needing about $300.00 worth of parts in 9 years. I am figuring broken parts not oil changes or anything like that. If the tractor they are selling now is $3,000 less than what I would have paid in December that would give me $2,700 to spend on warranty items if they were not covered.
That is besides how much cheaper the TYM made tractor is to the big brands.

What about Mahindra. TYM made the old 10 series for them and continue to make the 2500 series tractor for them.

I didn't know that. Good to know I also didn't know TYM puts Yanmar and Duetz engines in their tractors which are both great engines. I guess I'm getting educated on TYM. As I said though I would consider one if a dealer was nearby. I know Mahindra is a great tractor I nearly bought one a few years back and did a lot of research about them. So if TYM is building a couple of their models I'm now changing my thinking about TYM. However, still doesn't change the fact that the TYM is not a name brand tractor (yet anyways).

While out looking at new tractors with a friend this week ( he is looking at new cabbed tractors) I decided to price a couple myself and get some possible pricing and that means with and without the trade in of My 2 year old Kioti. What I find funny is that many people advised me that It would be a loss going with it if I wanted to trade it in or resell it a couple years because resale value would suck compared to JD or Kubota. Problem is THEY WERE VERY WRONG! I have now been offered by 3 different dealerships very similar amounts and all 3 offers have been better than any trade offer I ever had for any of my JD of Kubota tractors. The only time I can say I did better was when I traded my old New Holland and got more than I paid for it but that was more so due to the compact tractor market taking off and prices going up across the board for anything.
I agree that they are not well known. Some of their past tractor models have had engines made by Kubota, John Deere, Mitsubishi and CAT/Perkins. Their newer engines are built by Yanmar, Duetz and Doosan. I have said before I am in the market for a 40-50 hp tractor. If TYM had some better dealers near me I wouldn't hesitate to but one. The closest one to me has carried them since Montana tractors went out of business. But this dealer main business is snow plows, sanders and other truck accessories. I would like a dealer that their primary business is tractors. Especially now with the Tier IV emissions. I wish I lived in Texas near Big Reds Tractors.

After having read all the posts from beginning to this point, I'm struck by a couple of things:
1. The OP states in the 1st post that he is a complete newbie to tractors and then is looking at a 55 hp tractor . . . . Yet the balance of the posts are about warranty and resale price. "Complete newbie" . . . And 55 hp . . . "Having a bunch of dirt work" requires 55 hp????
2. Many mentions of j.d. and kubota tractors . . . Even a few on kioti and mahindra . . . but not a single mention of Massey Ferguson or Yanmar ????
