People who burn green wood, and the resulting heavy smoke, are one the major reasons why wood stoves, OWB and wood heat are being outlawed around the country.

Do you know this as fact? Sounds like a lot of hype to me as I've not read any good reason for the new restrictions on wood burners. People spewing forth their opinions as facts cause a lot of unnecessary drama in this world. If you have proof of this being the reason for the laws I will apologize otherwise please stop with the rhetoric already.

I thought the beef was with pollution and smoke, not creosote.

Sure, green wood requires keeping a closer eye on the chimney, and more frequent cleaning. Unless you have a chimney like in my shop, which is a 3/8 or so thick ductile iron pipe.

How long does that take to heat up to getting a good draft going? :confused2:

i don't burn green wood because it gives so little heat and is tough to keep burning in my stove.
