$25 for #325 isn't too bad these days. Wonder Why RK thinks there same amount is worth $39. Guess it's as much as the market will bear theory. Ofcourse everything's going up in all markets. Oh the good 'Ol days when used to be everywhere 1-2 cents @ rnd. I still have a few boxes of those :)
With the popularity of 380, I don't understand why it's more $ than 9mm.
9mm & 7.62x39 are two of the best bargains left out there.

9mm Kruz/.380 ACP might be gaining in US popularity, but consider police and military conytacts, civilian salrs, and europe, where .32 and .380 where once popular police rounds upgrading to a lot of 9mm Parabellum. I'm gonna guess that .380 is less than 10% of 9mm Para sales.

6$ a box and you don't think that's awful ?!?!

You see that is the problem.. People are getting used to the idea of paying $6 a box or more for .22LR. It is worth $2 a box Maximum. If people will pay it, and they are, why not sell it for that? Law of supply and demand. The prices of the metals that go into the manufacture have plummeted to lower prices than when we could buy them for $2 a box. There is no good reason for the ammo to be so high other than people will pay the high prices.

I havn't bought 22lr in over a year.. maybee 2, and then only a box or 2.

it's been since before sandy hook that I bought any real quantity of 22lr.

I bought the majority of mine in 2010 after the first Obama "panic" died down. I bought several 550 round loose pack "bricks" for around $19 each. And copper and lead prices were much higher then than now.

Another factor increasing the price is as long as the 22 long rifle is less than any other round people will still be willing to spend it. I think in the old, now banded/closed thread, we pretty much figured the cheapest ammo of any type other than .22LR, was around 22.5 cents. I think there's 5.45, 9mm para, .223, all in the $0.24-0.30 range. So, even at $0.10, .22LR is a 3rd the price. I'm not saying I have that mind set, but it certainly is a factor for aome

I know I reload alot more now.

thee idea of paying near a dollar a round for a rifle cartridge is preposterous.

Reloading, without casting, what area you at? Around $0.12/rnd of 9mm Para?

I didn't buy any at $6/box, and it didn't look like too many others were either. I'm just saying that I've seen a lot more priced at about $10/50, so by comparison, $6/50 wasn't as bad. The last I bought, just a week or two ago, was the 325 round box from Academy for $18 (5.5 cents/round). That is, what I feel, the "new normal" is apt to be.

Academy sometimes has 50 round boxes in stock for $2.29, and I think that is about the lowest I have seen.

In the end, it doesn't matter what I think, or anyone thinks, is a good deal, or what something "should" cost - all that matters is what someone is actually willing to pay for it. I would love for .22 lr to be cheap again, but just because that's what I want doesn't mean it will happen.

Good luck and take care.
