On the topic of cheap fire arms, and friend from Scouts has 9mm Sky/Skky/Skyy pistol, that he likes a lot that was around $150. They are made in Daytona area I understand. I personally didn't love the feel of it, but to each their own.

Turns out it is spelled SCCY, but pronounced Sky.

Yup, I've seen the 380. PS.. I think you got an amazing trade in deal if you got 100$ on a used HP pistol, that they will have to resell, and make a profit on.
I couldn't imagine anyone wanting a carbine in 380? The 9 mm is ok, I have two HP 9 mm carbines but never shot it. Also have a .40 hi point carbine which IS fun to shoot and darn accurate also.

I don't think the .380 acp makes much since, but maybe if you already shoot a lot of .380. I think an ideal round really would be .30 Tokarev. It's fast, flat shooting, low recoil, and about same weight as .380. 10mm or
357 mag would be nice as well. If the price of some of the smaller centerfires where less, I could see something like .32 acp carbine competing with .22lr but ammo would have to be in the 15-20 cent range and available in bulk packs.

Btw: the cocking hangle only goes on the left side, it looks like it should be changeable to right, but it doesnt.

So, the 995 is definitely minute of a soda can at 25 yards, standing

Stick a 4x20 or 6x24 scope on it , even a cheapy leapers or tasco, and you will be doing 100 yard work with that 9.

My buddy bought a 9 and I got a 45 when they first came out. Just due to the nature of the cartridge, my buddies 9 works the 100yrd targets much better.

Reloading, without casting, what area you at? Around $0.12/rnd of 9mm Para?

I reload and cast. 38 special cost me 5 cents a round. Get my lead from range scrap, primers $.03 powder at 3.5 grains BE $.0125. Time I consider free as I would not be making money during that time anyway. Amazing how many pistol rounds you can reload in an hour with a progressive press.

That is definitely getting the price down there with free bullet material for you to cast your own. What press do you have? I have the Dillon RL550B.

I have a lee Pro1000 that I use to reload 38/357, 9mm and 45ACP. I know it is a low end press, but I have it figured out pretty good. I can change calibers in 10 minutes. I am sure the Dillon is a great press, just can't justify replacing something that does the job. I also have a 4 hole turret I use for my rifle calibers. People actually think you save money by reloading. You don't, but you sure shoot a lot more for the same money... ;-)

Yes, that was a little lesson I learned the hard way a long time ago when I went to a gun shop and announced I need some reloading tools so that I could save some money. The older gentleman behind the counter just laughed at me, and advises "son you ain't gonna save ANY money, you can shoot more though".
