Its recently come to light that Mahindra is having issues with the 2555 and 2565 tractors. Specifically EGR /MIL light coming on. Poor or not very hot heat from cab units. Temp gauge not moving off peg in cold weather. Engine spudering/puffing smoke. If your an owner of one of these tractors or dealer with one your trying to repair it, Please post your comments and the details. I'm going to Mahindra service school next week and Id like to bring and or reinforce the point that there is a problem with these units and a solution is needed ASAP.

I have a 2555 with 17 hours on it, I know that is not a lot of hours, but I definitely noticed poor or no heat in the cab, the 4 back vents don't even blow any air its like they are not hooked up. My temp gauge is on clod all the time even after putting cardboard in front of the radiator. The engine seems to run poorly, spudering/puffing smoke like a say. I've also had a problem with the battery not holding a charge. I was going to wait until I hit 25 hours and contact my dealer but I may contact him earlier if these seems to be a chronic problems.

Thanks for your reply. Thats one for Bloomsburg next week. I strongly urge you to contact your dealer. The more feed back Mahindra gets about these issues the faster they will address them.

The rear vents in that cab series are not hooked up, just air vents

On your tractor be sure that the hyd lever for the rear remotes is not engaged... the sticker dosnt quiet line up with the lever position and is easy to mistake. just be sure its in the middle position. Not saying that's whats going on but something to check.

I know exactly what your referring to I have experienced that issue. I have a Backhoe on my tractor that runs off the rear remotes, I have disconnected the hoses for the backhoe so that I can run my plow angle and if, I forget to go back to the neutral position I can feel the hydraulics lugging down the engine. Whenever I feel the sputter and see puffs of smoke I check the lever, 99% of the time I have the valve in the neutral position, I don't go by the lever position I feel for the detente on the valve.

Interestingly I just took about 45 minutes to use the tractor to dig a hole and it didn't sputter and the engine actually heated up to normal temp and the gauge was registering normal. The temp here today is close to 40 and I still have the cardboard in front of the radiator. I've been dealing with it running rough and smoking for over two weeks now and today after I mentioned it, the darn thing runs normal... FIGURES!!!

SO the rear vents don't serve as defroster vents for the rear and side windows?? What kind of joke is that?

You can adjust the two with the extension tubes to face sideways to help with the windows. but no who told you it was for defrost?

The rear vent are return vents and will not blow any air out. They suck it in. The front 4 vents are the only vents that will blow out.

I have a new 2565 with only 14 hours on it but I have run it pretty hard. It's not cold that often in Texas but when it was in the 40's I ran the heater. It took a little while but it got way too hot for me. My temp gauge runs fairly quickly up to just below the mid point on the gauge whether I'm working a load or just driving. It hasn't sputtered any at this point. I would like to know more about these issues thouh.

I was at my dealer today and he said that mahindra was working on the problem. ( something about putting something inline to reduce the flow of the coolant in the system to allow the motor temp to get higher) He said to put cardboard in front of the radiator for now.
