Received my Titan 42 inch pallet forks with hay bale spear yesterday. Took just over a week for it to be delivered. It will be used mostly to move round bales for our horses. The pallet fork frame is nice and is pretty light, since my ford 1920 does not rated to lift a lot of weight. Used the forks today any they worked great.

I have been considering some pallet forks as well. I'm curious if you will be able to spear a bale with the forks still on, I would think it would help if the bale was frozen to the ground. Keep us posted on your opinion of these as time goes on.

I think it would be hard with the spear and forks on, but I'll give it a try. If I keep the forks on I probably won't use the two small stabilizer spears. A couple of the bales I just got were over 1,000 pounds was able to lift them a couple feet up. Forks worked great.

I've got a combination pallet forks/twin hay spears for my 4105. The forks themselves are removable and swapped for the spears.

This is accomplished via the 'shiny slidey bars' (sorry to get technical there) and secured with drop-pins.

I like your fuel transfer station. Your shop is spotless. Very nice setup.

Ta Mate. It's actually a 5-bay shed with one of the bays enclosed/lock-up for tools & workshop stuff. The climate in Aus doesn't usually call for an enclosed barn-type structure. Even our milking sheds are 'open'.

Having a concrete pad/floor makes all the difference... all of my implements have a wheeled pallet for ease of swapping out and storage.

Beautiful! I can understand why your tail wags. Where I am located in NY's North country it is nice and cold this time of year.

How hard is it to spear the bale with the two large spears? I know having just one sometimes it can be tricky getting it into the tight packed dense middle of the bale.

Very easy Btown because you don't insert in the middle, you raise the spears about a foot off the bottom of the round, ensuring that they're parallel to the ground, and drive them in. I then bring the spears up and raise the bale another foot or so and off I go.

Very stable.

Congrats on the new unit. My grandfather has the same setup from Titan. He tried leaving the forks on and just using the large spear. Speared fine but the then the bale wedged and he like to never got it off. Now he just removes the forks and adds the spear the 4-5 times a year he needs it. I'm thinking he had the 48" forks though.

Personally I like the two long spears better than the long and two short. They don't bind as bad and tend to slide off better.

Btown,

I just happened to have ordered the very same pallet forks last Friday (42" with the hay spears, but with John Deere Quick Attach and a beautiful shade of green). They should be there this week. So excited!! I searched for a thread called "Stupid Pallet Fork Tricks" but didn't find one.

I'm just hoping that they don't require me to have pallet forks to unload the ... uh .... pallet forks.

Mine were delivered to a friend business. When my friend brought them to me they were off the pallet. The frame was just over 100 lbs. it wasn't to bad to lift( for me that is. I'm 6'4" and 200 lbs). My SSQA was much heavier about 175lbs ( this was much harder to move. The forks are not very heavy. Well built. Fit great in my SSQA, I know some people have had issues with this, but mine fits snug. Have fun when they arrive. I have to get a bracket welded to my bucket to use it, so forks are on for a while.

I can see it getting stuck, that would not be fun to get off. Most of the time I will be using the forks to move hay. Might use the spear to get it off the trailer. Next on the list is a deck over trailer. Oh well.

I have the 42" forks/hay spear combo and it has worked very well. The only minor complaint I have is the forks don't slide as easy as I thought but it's not bad enough to worry about.

For right now mine slide real good. I noticed that they applied some grease to the forks. But right now everything is still nice and straight.

Mine are not greased and I've thought about it but was worried the grease would attract dirt and make them hard to slide. Next time I use them I'm going to try a little grease.

When my Titan 48" x 4000 lb. pallet forks arrived, on an LTL truck, the driver turned the pallet around and I hooked it to my FEL QA and picked up pallet forks and pallet. Truck was there less than 10 minutes.

Mine fit both tractors and are very handy. I have a separate SSQA hay spear.
