NAPA 85-405 in my Kubota MX5100 HST. Cannot tell one bit of difference from what came in it from the factory. $49.99 for 5 gal.

I'd use this over the 303 which is for older tractors. it's what i use in my new Mahindra.

Two names are missing from the label Bobcat and Kioti....I wonder why? MY Bobcat doc and many others say only use only Bobcat in my tractor for some reason. However I do get good pricing from my dealer and if they do the service the price break is even more.

if it is an older kubota prior to the udt specs, then a generic listing kubota is likely fine.

In many cases some of the economy oils tend to be higher in viscosity when cold vs a premium oil.

Right on the viscosity. I just did my Branson and Fords. Branson requires the Premium oil and I found a volume buy at a good price so I made one purchase and I put it in all 3. Heck you'd thought my Fords were pin cushions. Leaks everywhere that I didn't have before. Good news is shifting is smooth as silk and gears are quiet....that was a surprise. I had been running the 134a in the Fords.

Guys,

I don't buy it that this oil is as good as it claims to be.

"Recommended for XYZ" is much different than "Meets XYZ specifications". There's a reason why these oils are cheap. The PDF file posted earlier in this thread says a lot. These are basically made of used oil. I would doubt that there are as many additives as say Kubota or John Deere oil from the dealer.

Just my 2 cents.....

Maybe, Maybe not.

But many here including my self have used this oil or other generic universal oils for a very long time in lots of different equipment. Never had any hydraulic oil related failure

the three TSC stores within 15 miles of me have trouble keeping it on their shelves.

I don't deny that people use this oil. I also agree that it's in high demand.

A lot of people eat fast food on a regular basis. It still doesn't make it good for you.

I'm not trying to change anyone's opinion, I just don't understand owning an expensive piece of equipment and going cheap on fluids. Especially the hydraulics that don't need to be changed that often.

Again, just my 2 cents.

I always hate the fast food analogy.

Not everyone goes there and gets a supersized french fry and large milkshake for lunch.

How are their hamburgers any more unhealthy than if I were to grill one up at home?
How are their salads any different than I would make at home?
Baked potatoes? Chili?Fish sandwich? breakfast foods?

Do you use OEM labeled fluids and filters in your autos too?

I buy a car or piece of equipment and trust the MFG to make it well. I buy oil from oil companies and filters from filter companies. Many times aftermarket oils and filters are better than what the OEM sells you. Tractor MFG's dont own oil refineries or make their own oils, they hire an OIL COMPANY to do that and the dealer plays the middle man with extreme markup because they know there are guys like you who use your logic and will pay.

Also hate the term cheap.

Cheap dont mean a product is bad. Just as expensive dont mean its any better
