It sure is hard finding a used 6 foot bush hog!

I have been looking for sometime for a decent used 6 foot bush hog. Not a lot out there (unless you want a used Tractor Supply model). Beggars can't be choosers but my preference would be a used Brown brush cutter but I think I am dreaming being able to find one used. Any thoughts on finding one and preferred brands would be greatly appreciated.

BTW I have tried the usual suspects (Craigslist, Ebay, Tractor House)..

Does the Florida dept of agriculture have a news bulletin with a classifieds section?? The SC dept of ag has one and you can often find deals on it. The best thing you can do though, is to start slamming the craigslist in your area with ads that you want a 6ft bush hog. Sometimes just sitting back and waiting for one to pop up ain't enough.

I looked for a long time for a six footer in decent condition. As you have found, they are not often found on the market. I ended up jumping on a nearly new 5ft Woods BrushBull for about half of the new price. I only use it for rough cutting/clearing so the 5ft size is actually an advantage.

You might consider buying a new King Kutter brush cutter.
If you keep on the lookout, you will eventually find a good price on one from, Agri Supply, Blain's Farm & Fleet, Northern Tool, or Rural King.
There is a Rural King store in Winter Haven, and another in Bonita Springs.
Several sellers may be able to drop ship to Florida from the King Kutter mfg. facility.

the Brown cutters are very heavy built and nice from what I hear. no one within a 2 hour drive stocked them when I was in the market.

Tree cutter is different than bush hog. Same principle but doesn't cut grass as well and can cut way heavier stuff than even a heavy duty bush hog.

Yeah, a little more than I want to spend (5 grand) and I really just need a brushcutter...

I've never heard of a tree cutter like that before. Try this craigslist search engine: Craigslist Search Engine: Easily Search ALL of Craigslist I often get really good results from this site.
