It sure is hard finding a used 6 foot bush hog!

When I look at the left trailing edge I see a gap where the deck rusted out. On the 5' one he's selling look at the near right corner. They've been on sale for a long time, I think since last fall. Nobody else has thought they were worth buying.
I agree the 5 footer looks trashed. The 6 footer I didn't see anything other than bad paint though. (Looking again there is a black triangle at the right rear. Almost looks like a shadow but the light isn't right for that. Maybe a rusted corner that was cut out?)

I agree that the triangle looks like a piece is missing. Very dangerous if it is. You will be able to buy stuff at auctions again because the big guys can not make a living at 30 dollar a ton. I for one will welcome the lower price and wish I had some of my lighter 3pt. equipment back. Thieves will be thieves no matter what the price of scrap is. They even took PTO front halves on equipment they could not drag off.

Looking at it again with a bigger monitor, it does seem that the black triangle is just a shadow cast by the bracing piece above it. The rest of the shadows would be consistent. It would have been a very odd rust out spot anyways but I agree had it been a hole it would be unserviceable (though repairable).

I go back to my original thought that this six foot mower is just sun faded with bad paint. I still don't see any evidence of fatal rust or abuse.

I have a call into these people about this JD Frontier 72" Mower. I already have a Frontier (Woods) 72" finish mower and it is really good. Any thoughts on the Frontier Rotary Mower (I'm assuming Woods)?

Rotary Cutter 6 Ft.

Thanks!

Try finding 8'... It took me a long time but finally found a Land Pride with chain guards, paint didn't look good but rest was nice. Be patient, they will come up time to time and be ready...

An eight footer is going to be to big for me, I have an awful lot of trees to mow around. An eight footer would be nice in open areas but would kill me around trees. Thanks for the suggestion.

I would say that you should jump on that!
LaBelle is not very far from Naples, and the mower looks hardly used!

Are we looking at the same area?

I see gravel through the deck. And I miswrote, I should have wrote right leading edge for the 6'. I was thinking of the 5'.

Left a message for them. I have been reading about some hitch frame problems they had back in 2010, but I assume JD has remedied those problems.

Little nervous about buying a lighter duty mower, but I will not use it commercially and mostly use it it on tall bahia grass. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

No, I was focused on that black triangle in the rear of the mower. Agree the area you are looking at is concerning but I cannot tell if it is simply where the front chain guard frame might be slightly separated from the body of the mower. Kind of odd for a rust spot to be so linear and it is an odd place for a stress fracture. Looking at the near side, there seems to be some sort of frame bolted to the front at the side and that extends around the front of the mower. I assumed that was for handing a chain guard. Wouldn't be too concerning if that was slightly separated.
