Well - builder says that closed cell will run about 15k more. Just can't swing it. Just isn't worth it at that kind of premium. I would never get a return on investment.

We had a lot of trades out at the house today - HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofers, framers.... Things are picking up speed!

I think ours ran $22k for whole house plus basement.

House is looking good.

I'm a little freaked out that there is no metal flashing around your dormers and where your gable roof and wall come together. Folding the paper up the wall is going to last a couple of years before water starts to get through. Framers are not roofers, but this is looking like the same level of work you got out of your framers. Who is doing your roof?

Eddie,

It looks like they are using metal flashing - isn't that what this picture shows???

Hey Justin,

What is the rough estimate of time from first dig to having keys in hand?

Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff,

They broke ground about a month ago and the builder expects to have everything completed by the first part of May.

The builder is moving quickly - he has some other builds starting soon - so he wants to wrap up the two that he is currently working on. It honestly took a lot longer to find a builder and get the loan all worked out. That was a serious PITA! I'm glad that its behind us now.....

Here are some better quality pictures. Looks like they fixed the issue with uploading pics over 1MB.
