A HARD PTO PROBLEM TO SOLVE

the streaking grass in the pictures above look to me like tire tracks from the tractor, the tires pus the grass down and it does not spring back up for the blades to cut it in time,

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It may be one side has a higher lift type blade on it and or the rotation is opposite and show more on one side,
Exactly. ... Try reverse. ... OP tractor has tires in line, running over grass twice before the mower. For all we know the tractor that produced good results was a tricycle.
my guess is not enough hp, use the 85 hp or slow way down with 65 hp tractor
Last year we got the problem fixed. After nearly rebuilding my tractor. Replaced a piston and clutch. Did not solve the problem with the bush hog streaking grass but all the work I did on the tractor needed it. Talk with the Land Pride directly and after much complaint they decided to try a couple of different things. Amazing all they did was swap the other gear boxes around and that solved the problem. Still don't understand that but the problem is fixed for now. Thanks for all who chimed in to help me with this.
Hello all, I have a New Holland 4835 with a unknown problem and I need your help. I use a 12' Landpride Mower on this tractor. For some reason the mower started streaking grass 2' from the left wing. I thought it was the mower. I bought this mower new and this occurred my first year using it. I thought it was a leveling problem. I had the mower at two dealers and everything checks out fine. I connected this mower to another tractor and it did fine, no streaking in the grass. This past winter I replaced the pto clutches and plates. I did find one clutch that was shaved half the way around to the metal. I thought for sure that I had fixed theproblem. Well no I have not, it is still doing the samething. I checked the hydraulic pressure and it is what it supposed to be. I have changed the filters and fluid. I did hear a noise after running the tractor for awhile and it sounded like a rattle, but when I press the accelerator the noise quits. I tried to pin point where that noise is coming from and its hard to determine. I have included a picture what I am talking about. I just wanted some advice on what is causing this or what I need to do next. View attachment 377691
... No coherent resolution.
Agreed, could still be as simple as side to side tilt of the deck.
As previously stated , "rpm's? What do you mean by stepping on the throttle ?
You would not believe how many "problems" here that go away. When operated at rated rpm instead of some "driver" trying to save $$$ by operating at reduced rpms.
Are you driving round and round or cutting back and forth ?
What I am saying is the problem is fixed and it had nothing to do with the tractor. Don't know how swapping the gear boxes including stump jumper and blades from one side to another fixed the problem. Nothing to do with rpm of tractor or cutting direction. We all know that streaking will occur on turns but mines was in a continuous straight line.
the fact it cut fine on another machine means it is not the mower itself.
the fact that the blades can't decide not to turn means it is not the tractor / tractor pto.
The missing variable is the operator / usage technique.
Doesn't makes sense with the observations you stated about it being attached to another machine and cutting fine.
Unless of course it was just setting lop sided on your machine because the 3pt wasn't adjusted level side to side ?
No, sorry sound guy but it is not the operator. In fact a technician came out and used my tractor and he cut with it and no changes. Full throttle did not change anything. Off setting the mower did not change anything, going in reverse did not change anything, but what did was the swapping of the gear boxes, that fixed the issue. That recommendation came from the manufacturer. It worked that's all I know and now I am happy.
