I had a conversation yesterday with my dealer, the topic of discussion was the subject of this thread. He asked when they could come pickup my tractor and see what could be done to address the problems with it. After explaining the list of problems and symptoms, I asked just exactly what would they do to fix it. And to his credit he said he wasn't sure, that he would have to contact the DM. After explaining that at this point Mahindra hasn't determined what the fix will be, we agreed that the tractor can just set here in my barn and be available when I need it verses sitting in the shop. I'd rather have a tractor that runs poorly than no tractor at all....
The small annoying things like hose, and fitting leaks I can fix myself, there is no reason to haul it to the shop. I also seem to have a bad battery, the tractor only had 15 hours when the cold weather hit and it would not crank even after a heater was blowing onto the intake side of the engine for 2 hours. But after placing the battery on a charger for 2 hours it fired right up, I think I have a bad cell that can't handle the cold. So for the time being while I wait for Mahindra to come up with a solution I'll just turn on the charger when I turn on the heater.
Yes this is a brand new tractor that with the attachments I got cost me over $43k cash (no financing), and I shouldn't be having trouble with it. But my dealer is ready and willing to fix everything (as soon as Mihindra decides what the fix is). And if I'm willing to deal with the shuttering and puffing smoke and charging the battery I can STILL get my livestock feed, driveways and barn yard plowed, and even move some manure, I think I'm still being blessed. I could be worse!!!!
I hope we all hear that Mahindra has a solution soon, the tractors eating up about 5 gal of fuel and hour....:licking:
