The problem is copper to galvanized. (electrolysis) If the 3/4" female adapter was brass no problem. Or at least less problem.:)

Zerk I'm curious what a struggling **** star needs to ground while at work. :D
I doubt he knew enough to use brass. Galv and copper are what most people would have used, if they didn't know better.

I had to take a day job, to make ends meat.

I wanted them set up as I could pull either 1 out of service and still use the other 1.Right now 1 feeds into the other like a preheater. The dielectrics are on the hot water tanks.

I have wondered what effect parallel tanks would have, I am thinking about doing it pressure tanks for my camp well, one above ground for summer. I toll like the idea of being able to take one out of service. I am a big believer in being ready for a failure and having back up. If not parrallel, I would have done by pass valves.

You shouldn't have to register a water heater, like a firearm.

In many jurisdictions now, expansion bladder tanks are required, but homeowners/DIYers tend to skip the extra plumbing and expense of installing them. .

When using multiple tanks or as anti scald measure? I have been out the industry for awhile. Plus I never lived in a house with a pressure tank. So far so good.

I have commercial, institutional and residential... yet to have a pressure tank.

I have two water heaters in series. I think this is the correct way to do it.

If you have two parallel tanks, how do you intend to balance the flow? And, how do you propose to keep it balanced as the system ages and changes slightly?

At least with the tanks in series, the same amount of water goes through both of them. I have never had a problem with my installation in 8 years of experience.

Studying the pic..(I have no idea which lines are hot and cold), one more valve on the horizontal connector (in the pic I is the line just below the gas valve), and you could UN parallel, series, or either of the tanks as a single

Facing the front of the water heaters; the cold is always on the right. This could be changed by switching the dip tube from the right hole to the left. Never had to do that.
