Harbor Freight Quick hitch

I thought my old AC 160 was American too, seen 'em/drove 'em since I was 13 - til I started tryin' to get parts together for mine to add more remotes - found out maybe English, probably French - considering those two countries haven't liked each other since the dawn of time, it's no wonder I STILL haven't found out what one of the connections is

Back on topic, I have HF's quick hitches on both the AC and the Long, no problems yet, and a couple of the implements I've used on 'em weigh over 1000 pounds - in fact, I bought 2 more when they were cheap, one's gonna get a mount fabbed so it can take the place of the hoe bucket on the 580, and the other will get extensions to mate with the QA I'm fabbing for the FEL on the 580... Do a quick search through the forums, you'll find lots of threads about it, as well as the modifications you will probably need to do to get it work to work correctly with your implements.

As I said I was looking for specific info on a JD 2520 they have always had the rear clearance issues between the tires and the 3 point and was hoping someone had specific information on using the quick hitch.

Is the 2520 tighter than the 2320? I've never had an issue with the QH on mine.

Not sure about the 2320. I have a 2006 2520 that I got with 29 hrs on it and it has about a 1" of clearance on the 3 point and rear tires at full height.
JD made (makes) a replacement 3 pt arm set to correct the issue that came out in 2007-8(?) that corrects the issue and was looking to see specifically if the quick latch works with that tractor.

Here is a picture of the 2520 with the replacement arms that John Deere uses below it are the original arms they replaced. 1510.jpg

I do have a Ventrac made in Orrville Ohio, and a Massey Ferguson made in somewhere USA

Ventracs look to be very cool, but not inexpensive- worth it if you need one though.

This post also prompted me to go take a closer look at your M-F tractor...

Very Interesting:

Massey-Ferguson were at first and until the 1990's continued to be IMPORTED into the US of A.

From Wiki: Massey Ferguson - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The firm was founded in 1847 in Newcastle, Ontario by Daniel Massey as the Newcastle Foundry and Machine Manufactory-
They became an American corp as follows: In 1992, a management buyout of MF Industrial created the company Fermec, which finally ceased trading in 2001 when it was taken over by the Terex Corporation (Terex was formerly a unit of General Motors). This encompassed all construction equipment from Massey. It was then purchased by J. I. Case Company in 1997.[15]

Varity left Toronto and relocated to their head offices to the Williams-Butler House at 672 Delaware Avenue in the Millionaire Row area of Buffalo, New York.

Despite some of the company's hardships, Massey Ferguson was selling 25% more tractors than its nearest competitors at this time. In 1995 Massey Ferguson's worldwide holdings were purchased by the US-based AGCO Corporation. In August 1996, Varity merged with Lucas Automotive to become LucasVarity.

After a series of mergers and take-overs, the remains of LucasVarity were taken over by the US company TRW. Since 1962, Massey Ferguson has been the world's leading tractor brand.

Most interesting:
Currently, there are more Massey Ferguson tractors than any other, worldwide.

In June 2012, the Agco facility in Jackson, Minnesota, was expanded to start building Massey Ferguson and comparable AGCO "Challenger" models for the North American market.[SUP][16][/SUP]
Since production commenced at AGCO Jackson, the facility has produced "7600" series and "8600" series Massey Ferguson tractors for the North American market. Currently in production at the Jackson facility are the recently released 7700 and 8700 series Massey Ferguson tractors.

Thanks for sharing,
Thomas

Back to main thread topic:

Hi JRobyn,

Well, Is your new QH mounted and in use yet, or are you still awaiting delivery?

Freight can take so long, can't it...

Good luck!

Technically, you asked generally if anyone was using it for implements, then mentioned that YOU wanted it for your specific JD model with several implements...

"Anyone using a Harbor Freight quick hitch on implements? Looking to use it on a JD-2520 for a bush hog, blade and rake .3-Point Quick Hitch for Tractors - 27-3/16" Clearance"

Just saying- but NOW of course you HAVE specifically asked that question.

What-ever,
The first post I said what I was using it on and for info on it's application with the 2520.
I got a generic "search the forum" answer from another member.

Thanks. Was going to point that out, but didn't want to start an argument. Figured I'd let it drop.
