Personally I think it is a great idea. Just don't put a phone in it. Run small power service enough for a tv and run a cable line.

Nice. when buying my camp I struggled with location. On one hand I wanted it very remote, on the other I wanted year round access, we get 250-300" of snow, and I would be nice to be able to ride motorcycle to it.

I ended up buying 40 acres, with the camp 50 yards from the road, which allowed me to have a service. I like this because sometimes I will get up a 11pm after work, and I can just walk in. It is my second house, and may be my retirement home.

I do think someday I may buy more land, and put a strictly deer/bear camp on it. I have also considered building a giant blind I could sleep in.
