The Z122rkw just caught my attention!

Went to Northern site to read all about the seat. Was asked by Alex if I wanted to chat. I asked about seat fitting Kubota Z122r and was told bolt pattern 11"x11 1/2" and :) Alex was wanting to get out of the chat room. I told him to go if he was busy, he said he wasn't but said my discretion to buy or not and then ready to leave :) Told him go on if he couldn't offer more help and he again said he was there for me but with no input. Then he told me it was a universal fit and they didn't recommend it for any thing specific. I said it seems they would have some feedback from a Kubota buyer of it working, not working or needed modifications to fit and Alex terminated the chat.:laughing: Guess Alex is on a piece rate pay scale and I was asking to many questions. I'll just check with Barlows, Tractor Supply or wait on a Kubota Z122r owner to buy one and tell me how their installation went.:confused3:

I purchased a suspension seat kit from Ebay for my Z122r and it works like a charm. Installed it Friday night and mowed with on Saturday so much nicer and much smoother on my bumpy little yard.

Thanks. Ordered one just a minute ago. Offered less than $145, no go and accepted $145 offer.
Please report your findings... I want to burn more cash because of TBNer's advice.

Installed suspension plate yesterday. Didn't read instructions, seemed pretty simple and straight forward job. Doesn't work, called company and talked with Brad, sent Brad pics and Brad called back. Told Brad I didn't get any instructions but later found them. Brad and instructions seem to indicate I have to remove tracks from Kubota to be able to move the slide handle from under the seat to the outside of the seat as hyderja appears to have done from his pic. Looks like removing tracks is going to be a bear, sent hyderja a pm to ask how he did it but haven't heard back from him. Will remove and see how to move tracks, try that and see if the problem is solved.
Has been a tough job since every part seems hard to reach and discovered the value of ratcheting box wrench which I don't have. Will report back.

Nice mower - wonder though does lack of a folding ROPS cause you problems? I have a folding ROPS on my Exmark that I keep down because of all of the low tree branches I have to mow around.

Stopped at Barlows and discovered the entire seat and seat platform lifts up to be able to unfasten the tracks and switch them. :ashamed: Maybe I should have read the owners manual. Will probably tackle the job tomorrow and install it correctly and then give an update.

Mr wife came in after her first use on the back hill and was rather distressed. She circled around a tree and her front end went airborne with the back end still on the ground. Since it was heading down hill which is sometimes an issue with this model lacking the best traction, I cut the limb off to get off the tree and moved on. She hasn't done it again, guess lesson learned. I have a canopy cover that I took off of a tractor and plan to install it for her so she will be able to see how high her rops is by looking forward and a bit up at the front edge of the canopy.
Sweet little Z and fun to drive except down hill around trees, had to push myself off a apple tree with my foot yesterday till it could grab traction. The side discharge makes it even worse by not being able to cut from both sides like on my ZD326 rear discharge deck. Hate side discharge every time I use it.

Aha that makes sense but I would have done the same thing before finding out how to do it right.

I put the mulching kit on mine and I don't have any issue with side discharge any more. Mows and mulches equally close on either side. BTW, I mowed 12in high grass down to 3in height with no problem. Had to go slow but that was even with moist grass and no stalling the engine. You may want to try it. I highly recommend the mulch kit. Mulches better than my Honda push mower which can mow like a beast but was stalling under the same conditions. Of course I didn't mean to let it get so high but I was away on business most of the last month. I love my Z122! Do wish it had a folding ROPS. I can't get under some of my neighbor's fruit trees. A more comfortable seat would be icing on the cake for me.
