No shots were meant for the messenger. If it came across that way, I am sorry. I wasn't trying to defend myself about anything. I was giving all the facts about what transpired. That's all. I admit I should've stopped everything once I saw the carb leaking. My mistake.
Keep in mind...
New stuff is not alway good stuff!
I once bought a tune up kit. My truck ran two block and started missing and back firing. I could not figure it out. Sent it to the shop and it took them several hours to figure out the brand new capacitor was bad.
My son bought a new carburetor for a generator last month. It started and ran fine. This month it is missing and back firing. Go figure.
I have bought fuel lines 3 times that were plugged up with stuff.
I give up!!! I cannot get this thing to run at all now. I've tried everything.... well, obviously not everything, but still. She won't even sputter now. Anybody know of a good Ford mechanic in the north Dallas area? We are north of McKinney and have no access to a trailer, so they would have to come to the tractor. I'm about to put an ad in Craigslist to come get it.....
