I'm confused to it states in the PDF brochure it's Forward/Reverse synchro shuttle with full synchro mesh it sounds like it should be able to shift between the two without the clutch. . I'm confused
Most Synchronized shuttles require the clutch be used to forward/reverse.
Most Power reverser or hydraulic reversers do not need the clutch to forward/reverse

I'm sorry to hear that Smokerdude. As for the problem it seems as though the dealer has misinformed you. DavesTractor is a huge contributor to the Mahindra Brand and might be able to elaborate better on your questions and concerns. Best of luck. Donnie

Thanks for the info Donnie...

So was the salesman. Claimed Mahindra trained him wrong!

Maybe after getting some hours in the clutching will become second nature. I agree that HST sounds like the best option for you, but with a tractor that large, shuttle shift may be more appropriate.

Not trying to poke a stick in your eye, but didn't you drive it before you purchased? I ask, because I bought my tractor over the internet factory direct. There are no dealers anywhere, only the factory in Virginia. I wouldn't purchase until I sat on one. I found a local owner that was kind enough to explain the machine to me in person before I purchased. Sorry for your dilemma. Hope you can get things worked out to your satisfaction.

Can you even get HST with a machine that big?

I'm pretty sure that mahindra does not offer HST above 50hp. Not sure about other manufacturers.

So he went in to buy a cut with a HST and left with a 85 hp shuttle shift tractor:eek:? Some sales talk that was.

I believe the 2555, at 55 hp, is the highest horsepower model available with HST.

It better. That's why I picked mine! :)

No problem Moss. I originally settled on a smaller unit w the HST. After several conversations with the salesman I upgraded to the larger unit based on his recommendation over the phone and he immediately put in the back and started working on the third function valve, so I never got to drive it.
