Your towing rigs and trailers

took this trailer over the smaller BP, hooping the tractor would lift the logs onto it, but it didn't <img src="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=466424"/>

Nice trailer. What is each axle rating and what is the actual weight of the trailer ? Heck, while in at it, how long is the deck ?

14K GVWR two 7K axles. tag says the trailer weighs 4800. i think it fairly close weight wise, but i have never weighed it empty. 22 ft deck 5 ft dovetail

Great trailer!

So does this mean it's 27' useable deck? For instance can you drive down the road with the ramps "up" instead of laying on the dovetail?

Bought my first new truck yesterday!

Here's a link to my TBN-assisted thought process: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/trailers-transportation/356554-questions-2016-f250.html

I replaced a 2003 F250 with frame rot .

This is a 2016 F250 XLT, 4x4, Crewcab, shortbed, SRW. Had to search to find one with the bigger 4.30 electronic locking rear axle.

Rated for 12.5k at the bumper and 15.1k with Goose or 5th wheel.

It has adjustable pedals, backup assist, snow plow prep pkg, and the XLT value pkg. I put new BFG KO2 A/T 18" tires on it. Line-x basic bedliner, B&W turnover Gooseneck hitch, and line-x'ed 3 hoop-step rails are going on in a couple weeks.

I want a wireless magnet backup camera for bumper-pull hook-ups if anyone has a recommendation.

Haven't towed with it yet. Probably next weekend.

The built-in trailer break controller (with computer managed sway control) can be pre-programmed/customized for each trailer. It even keeps track of miles for each trailer (handy for trailer maintenance I think).

Truck technology has come a long way since 2003.

What engine?

/ Your towing rigs and trailers #2,367
6.2L.
Don't put on enough miles to justify diesel.

Looking at your truck makes me laugh at mine. I love my truck and it's been very dependable. It's a 2009 gmc 2500hd SLT2 loaded !!! (This was the year before the Denali.). My loaded truck in 2009 is probably comparable to a base line truck today ....

Sweet truck!!!

Thanks!
Yours probably cost less too though! Lol

how many trailers can you store?

Ha ha, this is very true, my sticker in 2009 was 53k but I got it for 41k ... This was also the year I was able to write off the taxes on the purchase so I was able to get even more money back.

Scratch that; It will store 10 trailers. I wish that was a limiting number for me!

Very nice truck...

Is frame rot common where you are?

Never seen a vehicle of any kind with frame rot and 2003 isn't that old since my work van is a 1985 and pickup a 1991.

Oh man, you have no idea! And neither did I before I moved up here. Unfortunately, it is extremely common. Body panels can rust through in 3 years. At 13yrs anything is possible.

In NC I thought there was rust compared to South Texas and AZ/NM! I had no idea. The amount of metal that disappeared in the last year really blows my mind. I had hoped to get two more years out of that truck. It only has 89k on it.
It was already rusting when I bought it 5yrs ago and I did not realize how quickly it would go. Very expensive lesson. I will be truly **** about this truck!

Here's mine... 07 F450 Crew Lariat 4x4 6.0L PSD 4.88 gears 8' aluminum flatbed. Nice truck. But rides like a tank. Payload rating of around 8000lbs and it sure rides like it... I've had around 5000lbs on the bed while pulling 10000 lbs and it still wouldn't squat. Actually, that's probably the only time it ever rode smooth LOL.

Truck itself weighs around 9400 lbs. Empty I get around 14-15 MPG, towing (usually around 10k) I get around 11 MPG. Which I guess isn't bad considering the tall gears and weight of the truck.

The 6.0L International diesel is a pretty good engine, if you can afford to own it LOL.

Prior to this truck, I had a 2008 F250 Crew XLT 4x4 with the V10, 4.10 gears. Averaged 13-14 MPG empty, and 9-10 MPG towing. I really like that engine. I would've kept that truck but needed a dually and flat bed, and more payload capacity.

are you allowed to run without fenders?
