My Kioti hit 100 hours yesterday. I like it a lot. My wife loves it. The last two weekends, my son in law has been operating the tractor while I use the excavator. We have been clearing several acres of land and preparing it for planting.

It has been a huge undertaking. We have a mountain of stumps.

I noticed yesterday when I started to use the tractor, that the step was bent. So I hooked a ratchet strap to it, and pulled it straight.

So far, I have not had any major issues.
I had a couple hydraulic leaks that were quickly fixed by tightening the lines.
Changing the transmission/hydraulic filters the first time was ridiculously hard. I broke two strap/chain wrenches from the auto parts store. The handle on one folded over and the other simply snapped at the weld. I ended up using a Vise-grip chain wrench. Even though I tried to fasten it as close to the base of the filter as possible, both filters were completely mangled and ruptured. I had to use my foot to press against the wrench to get it to turn.....tore a hole in my shoe, and bruised the heck out of my foot. I don't know what they are thinking at the factory when they put them on so tight. I was told by a mechanic at the dealer that they are painted on. I ran a thin blade knife around the joint hoping the cut any paint. I don't know if it worked or not.
Check the lug nuts on the tires at 10 hours and every 15-20 hours after that. I didn't and I had one work it's way lose and get stripped. I did't keep up with the tire pressure, and had a flat.
The FEL kickstand rattles terribly. I lost several nuts from that, and replaced them, and shimmed the kickstand with plastic to get the rattle out. The pins that hold the FEL on also rattle.. made a shim from a plastic water bottle to fix those and yesterday I discovered that there is a rattle from the hitch pin below the 3 point. I will be making a shim from a gatorade bottle today, to get rid of that.

This tractor is strong. I have skidded out some really large oak logs and it has done fine. I am very happy with my purchase.
And yesterday it was 86 degrees. That is pretty hot for spring. I was feeling beat down by the heat and dust early on, while running the excavator. Climbing into the air-conditioned Kioti in the afternoon to start skidding logs was a welcome break. I will be patting myself on the shoulder for getting a cab, for a long time.

I left the fuel cap off when I left the farm last week. We had over 1.5 inches of rain. I will be draining some of the die from the filter. But I ran the tractor just the same.

My wife did a lot of work today while I was in the excavator.

Do you see any water in the fuel filter bowl

Do you see any water in the fuel filter bowl
Looking at the engine, I saw what I believed to be the fuel filter in a black plastic container with white valve at the bottom. I was going to drain that today to remove any water that had worked thru.

It will work thru the entire load of fuel. I picked up a bad liar once and it meant stopping every 100 mikes and draining the fuel filter and then when I could drain no more water changing it.

I have a Perkins in mine with a see thru bowl at the bottom of the filter. I would drain into a clear jar and let it sit a bit and see how much water is there. Not much I bet.

It was too wet today to do very much, so I went to Crutchfield and picked up a stereo and an Adapter. Since my wife has more seat time in the tractor than me and probably will for a while, It is her Mother's day gift. She loves her music. It wasn't hard to put in with the two piece screw caps they have although, I would describe the metal sleeve that came with the Kenwood marine radio I bought, as flimsy. It works well and sounds pretty good with the stock speakers.

.

I just hit 50 hours and found my hydraulic filters to be nearly impossible to get off as well. Both filters tore, spilling fluid all over my chain wrench and me. I had to pull the rear tire off to get enough room to work... following a trip to town for a 3/4 drive ratchet set. Even with that big set, I still needed a 3' bar attached to get the wheel bolts off. Then I used the largest pair of channel locks I own and barely got those filters off.
Whew, I'm not looking forward to doing that again anytime soon. I really do like my tractor and can't wait to get in the seat again.
