The Dreaded Subaru Head Gasket Issue | LIC Motorsports Google it up. Subaru is cheap snow weather transportation. Throw away cars. HS

Never owned a Subaru but wouldn't call a head gasket that fails between 80 and 120k a throw away car if that's the only issue. I'd think the head gasket would be a cheap easy diy fix. We had a 5.4 ford van that had to have head gaskets replaced at 70k and sure didn't throw it away.

My Family has had 5-6 subarus, none with a head gasket issue. Subarus are definitely not cheap throw away cars, Cheap throw away cars are Nissan Versas... I am sure there are many people on here who would agree with me. What do you drive?
MB, BMW, Suburban. Suburban being replaced with a Toyota Land Cruiser. BMW is a 335d, yes a diesel BMW, a spectacular car. HS

You must be getting tired of replacing the throttle bodys on your Suburban? Comparing a Subaru to a Benz is like comparing apples to oranges. With a subaru you get 80% of the Benz, at 40% of the price.

Yeah right... Keep telling yourself that... Haven't had to replace that on suburban yet, Suburban is unique vehicle, nothing else does what it does, but don't get me wrong, I don't pretend that it's the same quality as the German cars. HS

I agree with you fully ! ......had a reliable Subaru in 80's and now that it is just me and the wife, our next car will be Subaru......longevity of the engine being the key , and value for the buck, and excellent AWD.

My sister has an 09 Yukon that is on its 3rd throttle body in 140k miles, i assume your Suburban is powered by the same 5.3L that her Yukon is?
