I had some help today, these two guys hired me to skid out some logs for them,

I'm cutting in the same woods, so no big deal helping them out,

Here's a few of the logs I skidded out for them, Most of them were 16 to 20 feet long,

Once I had them to the road, they went and got this fork lift to move them,

They were taking them four at a time, but the rear was getting a bit "light" with four on board... lol

Well, that's it for today!

Sorry but there is no way those logs are 20,000 lbs and that forklift is more than that. Rear End light - my BS meter was pegging again.

Where did he claim they were 20,000 pounds? That load wasn't 20,000 pounds, but that forklift should be able to lift that. My much smaller forklift is rated to lift 6500 pounds at 24" although it can do better. I lifted 2 pallets of concrete blocks at the same time with it.

I'm only saying that with two of the logs at the end of the folks and the over head crane also on it, it was some rear end light... I never said the wheels were off the ground, but I did see them lift some when he backed up...

Perhaps you need to work on your reading and comprehension skills some?

Did you get yourself a self-releasing snatch block to use with that winch? It can make things much easier when you need to pull around a corner or avoid damaging a tree along the route of your pull

Guys that is a 30k forklift plus all the weight hanging on the back. Wet wood is heavy but that is a beast - which is obviously why he dragged the logs to the road. It would have to be very solid soil for that to go across without sinking without a load.

Woods are dry enough to start up again. The bugs aren't far ahead. Already seeing a few.

First of all it is NOT a 30K plus forklift, although he does have one quite a bit BIGGER that's rated 26,500...so YOU are now pegging my BS meter...

Secondly, Steve called me last night and said he ran the biggest logs through a log weight calculator and the two biggest logs are just over 4K each... Several of the others went just over 3K...

4+4+3+3 = 14,000 plus and then there's the weight of that heavy SOB crane body/arm that was ALSO on the forks... THEN there's the facts that the two heaviest logs were at the end of the forks...

SO, what is the issue here??? OTHER than creamer hasn't thought this out very well and just wants to break my balls here...

Flies have started early here. The weather's been amazing for working outside. Other than Friday when we spiked at 88F, it's been 60-70's.
