Nice looking shed. With the tall sides you should be able to pull the pump out of the well for servicing or replacement without having to take off the roof.

Good luck

Sure about that? Every time I've had to pull my pumps a boom/Crain truck had to sit right on top to pull hundreds of feet of pipe in 20' sections just to get to the pump.

C4Ranch, Next time, think about replacing with poly if you can. I pulled over 200' here to get out a defunct old pump and the poly is still good. I put in new though with a new pump. No point in taking chances for the limited cost.

I had a well in Australia only 120 feet deep and pulling up the 20' sections was an absoulte pain - literally. I still have a big scar on one arm. Disconnecting each section after securing the rest takes a bit of time too. It had to have sections again though, because it was windmill driven and needed to be perfectly straight for the pump rod.

Mine is 420' deep... Lots of pipe to pull LOL. I did design the roof structure to come off easily using hurricane braces and screws. I can have it off in a couple hours. Still need to finish shed and run elec.

Good idea, may look into it next time. PVC is common practice here. Mine is 420 and other one is 340'. The guys who pulled my 420' had it out in short order. They were synchronized teamwork!

Yep. That's what happens when you do it that way. I was thinking about one-piece flexible poly pipe instead of rigid sections.

The well on my former ranch in Tehama County is 154 feet deep. The driller used 20 ft sections. I never got around to building a well shed. Thought about it several times and then said forget it--it's an unnecessary expense IMHO.

Our well crew used sch. 120 threaded pipe with zip locks (I don't remember the correct name), I am not sure I would want to go any other way with a deep well. IMO poly or the correct PEX is fine for shallow wells but once you past a couple hundred feet I wouldn't want anything less secure.

Cjm005, I just saw in the local paper another central Texas Olive grove is expected to harvest their first crop in September. The grove is called Dell's Favorite Texas Olive Ranch and is located off Young's Prairie Road just outside Elgin and owned by Frank and Renee Majowicz. There are over 1,300 trees that consist mainly of Arbequina and Arbosana olives trees and can be categorized as Spanish olives. Texas Mobile Mill will be at the farm to press the olives in September.

They may be a good source of local information.
