I see I haven't posted any pictures of my outdoor cob fireplace. I couldn't find any on this PC, so they must be on my work laptop. All the rain we have had has kept me from finishing it, so there is time for more pictures when I get back to it.

We ate over at Sister and BIL's tonight. He was telling me that he had everything needed to fix our old backhoe. It got caught in the flood a few years ago, and I thought it was a write-off. So this is good news. It is a trailer mounted rig, and should be able to take the ramp up from one location. I'm still going to try to get some more dirt moved with the box-blade using the B7500.

Shoot Larro... hard work. I have a hard time getting energized in the cold short days to do much outside around here. I suppose I will hear it now from my brothers here in the PNW! :ashamed:

Our cold weather just started here, but my back has been messed up since the week before Christmas to where I couldn't do much. I have been camping a lot though. Sleeping on the ground seems to help.

Larry, how is the camp site these days?

I have added an outside fireplace. It's made of cob. I'm going down there tonight, so I'll try to remember to snap a picture.

My cousin has said he would do some back-hoe work at the camp when our schedules work out. Hasn't happened so far. I'm still camping {in the paracord and tarp shelter} a couple of times a week. A few weeks ago I saw several snakes crawling, so I brought in my Army cot to get up off the ground. I've been adding to my camp cookware collection at a steady rate, but it's been too hot to do much cooking. Also planting a few peach trees down there. I've got tons of grapevines I started from seed, and I'm going to put some of those in too.

How is it I missed this thread and found it now, at bed time?

Looks like I'll be up a bit longer!

Is the YouTube channel you mention called "Primitive Technology"? I really enjoy those videos.

I like those videos too. It would be better if he would talk, but it is amazing what he can build with just the stuff in the jungle. But then if I had his wet clay, I could do some building too. My favorite You Tube bushcrafter is Really Big Monkey 1. He is a machinist and makes all sorts of gadgets for camping. Here is his newest video.
