The family will be riding in style...

Glad to hear your presistance paid off and wishing you many happy motoring miles.

I keep saying I won't be in the truck market until mine die... 1985 Chevrolet 3/4 and 91 Silverado...

I can in no way afford one but those new 150's are nice... congratulations on the new truck.

I would concider trying to figure out how to wrangle a deal on one if I could haul the whole family with it (8 of us). Wife won't go for me getting a new truck while her Excursion is getting close to 300k miles on it!

Nice truck, and you got a good deal. It's amazing how they are practically giving away new trucks this time of year.

They've started early this year for some reason. Usually don't see them get this aggressive until October-December. I didn't look to see what RAM had going on deal wise but did look into GM and their "advertised" $8500 off. Yeah, I learned real quick that truck that qualifies for that isn't anywhere to be found and that's only ONE configuration, the most you'll get off is $2500-3500 from the pricing I saw. No thank you. Not when Ford is basically saying "come in and pick out any xlt and make us an offer!"

I wasn't planning on buying a new truck in all honesty, I just happen to see it online and it was equipped how I'd prefer so I emailed them what I thought was a lowball offer. Within 5 mins I got an email back asking when could I come in and sign the papers?lol

That's a nice truck. You'll love the Ecoboost. I have a '16 Explorer Platinum with the 3.5 ecoboost and I agree, it's a hotrod!

Appreciate it! Yeah I was curious about this new 2.7 ecoboost but I read hundreds of posts from owners who raved about it and watched I don't know how many YouTube videos on it. When I drove it I saw what all the hype was about. I can only imagine what the 3.5 is like. I've never experienced an engine that pulls so hard continuously and doesn't seem to ever run out of steam. When the ecoboost a first came out I thought they were hype and gimmick. I was wrong, way wrong. They're the real deal. Driving one made a believer out of me!

You have the truck I long for, an 80's body style Chevrolet truck. If I ever win the lottery I'm calling Danny at Counts Kustoms and telling him to build me one.lol

In the end we took delivery of a F250 Diesel that was special ordered... it was close there for awhile and looked like a F150 might be coming home...

The main reason for the Diesel was moving stock trailers for the farm and flatbed loads of trees...

I've got a 2015 XLT supercab with XTR package and the 2.7 Ecoboost. Anybody that knocks the 2.7 hasn't driven one. It's got about 9000kms on it and I haven't tried sport mode yet but in standard mode it's not lacking at all. If the fuel reading on the dash is accurate it gets better mileage than the 2011 3.7 non turbo V6 I traded in. I wasn't looking for a new truck either but got a call asking if I might be interested in a new truck. I thought it can't hurt to see what kind of trade in I'd get. They wouldn't give me a set price but said to go out on the lot and find a truck I liked. I picked one out and figured it would be roughly 10K off the sticker price because it was February/March this year. Another girl took my keys to do an appraisal of my current truck. It wasn't cleaned and needed a windshield but she said that didn't matter. She came back with a sheet of paper showing the price for the new truck and my trade. I thought she made a mistake! $11,000 off sticker plus another $750 rebate. Then the real kicker, $18,000 trade in for my old truck that I paid $21,700 for in Jan. 2012. It had 94,000kms on it, needed a windshield and tires in the not so distant future. It was a no brainer to me. When I had some issues with a scratch they had to repair, they were hesitant to send it to the body shop because the girl doing the trade assessment made a mistake. She texted my GF that the trade should have been $5000 less because she didn't realize my trade in was only 2 wheel drive. I wouldn't have traded it for only $13,000 and 4 wheel drive is only a $2500-$3000 option from what I could tell. So far no complaints with the truck and being it's aluminum I plan to keep it for 10 years or more if it proves reliable.

I haven't tried sport mode yet but in standard mode it's not lacking at all.

Sport mode just makes some alterations to how it reacts when you play with the pedals. From my foot gauge, it feels like pressing the throttle down about 10% in sport mode is about equal to pressing the throttle halfway down in normal mode. When you step on the brake in sport mode, the downshifts are more aggressive than normal mode so it adds some additional engine braking and is in a low gear ready to be hammered coming out of a turn.

The only real difference I've found with sport mode is when you momentarily blip the throttle while at-speed, the transmission jumps to second gear (it does this in tow/haul mode too). Besides that, sport mode is no different than normal mode, just more aggressive in the shifts and throttle response.

I personally like to use sport mode with manual shifting so I get the improved throttle response and the transmission isn't shifting all the time or holding low gears waiting on me to mat it.
