I've got a 2015 XLT supercab with XTR package and the 2.7 Ecoboost. Anybody that knocks the 2.7 hasn't driven one. It's got about 9000kms on it and I haven't tried sport mode yet but in standard mode it's not lacking at all. If the fuel reading on the dash is accurate it gets better mileage than the 2011 3.7 non turbo V6 I traded in. I wasn't looking for a new truck either but got a call asking if I might be interested in a new truck. I thought it can't hurt to see what kind of trade in I'd get. They wouldn't give me a set price but said to go out on the lot and find a truck I liked. I picked one out and figured it would be roughly 10K off the sticker price because it was February/March this year. Another girl took my keys to do an appraisal of my current truck. It wasn't cleaned and needed a windshield but she said that didn't matter. She came back with a sheet of paper showing the price for the new truck and my trade. I thought she made a mistake! $11,000 off sticker plus another $750 rebate. Then the real kicker, $18,000 trade in for my old truck that I paid $21,700 for in Jan. 2012. It had 94,000kms on it, needed a windshield and tires in the not so distant future. It was a no brainer to me. When I had some issues with a scratch they had to repair, they were hesitant to send it to the body shop because the girl doing the trade assessment made a mistake. She texted my GF that the trade should have been $5000 less because she didn't realize my trade in was only 2 wheel drive. I wouldn't have traded it for only $13,000 and 4 wheel drive is only a $2500-$3000 option from what I could tell. So far no complaints with the truck and being it's aluminum I plan to keep it for 10 years or more if it proves reliable.
