Kaiser killed my best friend back in the 90's due to a terrible mis diagnosis. His nephew was an attorney....took the case and won a big multi million dollar lawsuit for his wife. Tragic event!

I did not want to go into details but this is the reason my administrator refuses to allow Kaiser... she said they nearly killed her father and said Kaiser will never be an option.

So then I related my story to her...

I was best man at my friends wedding... years later he developed two brain tumors... the prognoses was not good... he had the top people in Kaiser working on it... the head for neurology said there was an experimental procedure using a Gamma Knife in Sweden that showed real promise.

Kaiser sent him to Sweden for the treatment and 21 years later he is doing great...

Hard to imagine but true.

The problem with grower in Calaveras as related by my friends and from what I saw is they basically camp at the grow site... have dogs for protections and erect makeshift security... there are also numerous cases where water has been diverted and clear cutting...

This weekend I went to check on several listings down in the Gilroy area... farms and ranch property.

It was never less than 100 degrees and the are looked like a fire waiting to happen... single roads into box canyons and everything tinder dry.

I want over the hill towards Watsonville and the temps dropped 20 degrees and all the farms were in full production and lush and green...

Living near the coast is sure comes with benefits...

Just think, if anyone could grow their own if they wanted it, all of those problems would vanish. As Reagan said "Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem." Also "Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them." Get government out of drugs and the drug problem will solve itself.

I always liked the road between Salinas and Monterey, Hwy 68.
Beware the coastal commission. They're constantly up your backside with a microscope. I have a friend with a house in The Carmel Highlands and they drive him nuts. He couldn't even cut down a dead tree. Property owner has no rights.

With the decriminalization and easy medical exemptions... I thought anyone could grow now?

Not a day goes by without the smell of weed in the air... people openly smoke and just this morning, stopped at a red-light, the smoke was wafting from the car next to me.

I wonder how many have contact highs from proximity?

I'm very much a live and let live person...

That said, I don't want more impaired drivers on the road.

Don't overlook the kids that are raised in this environment... they are helpless for the most part...

True... which is how it is in my city too.

I need a permit to remove a tree except for Eucalyptus... the permit fee is refunded for dead trees.

As drunk driving isn't a good idea I don't think driving while stoned is such a good idea either but neither is texting while driving. I don't know if people are just too stupid to think, too lazy or both. Overall I think it's a general lack of self discipline and responsibility brought on by our lax standards for personal behaviour in our society today. How about backing off of the diversity and tolerance crap a couple of notches and stress self discipline and responsibility for a change.

When I have a dead tree on my property, down it goes and it's only my business. In fact I can cut them all down if I want to. After all they are my trees on my property.
