Spell check is great isn't it? Once in a while it helps us, but most of the time it just makes us look like 3rd grade dropouts.
I thought the Tyranny fluid was intentional and pretty funny!

This it what I use a few years ago someone told me about this. I had carbon and lead in my 45/70 barrel he told me to let it soak over night so I used a cork to plug the barrel and pored some in let sit overnight and when I cleaned it it came out easy.

It all started January 2013. after the December 12 Sandy Hook thing. And while it is seems to be regional, and variable, I can guarantee you cannot go to any wal mart in my area and buy .22LR rimfire except for a few minutes in the morning when it is set out on the shelf. poof! gone!

It has been years since I set foot in a Walmart, but Bi-Mart always has .22 LR, .22 WMR on the shelves. My rod and gun club sponsors a gun show in spring and autumn, and at the last one there was a lot of .22 ammo. I stocked up on .22 shorts, which for me means 500 rounds. I don't remember the price, but it was not extreme.

I have no idea why you would still be experiencing shortages. Like you say, it must be a regional thing. Maybe the problem is Walmart. Have you tried other stores?

Yes. All gun stores here have some .22LR ammo now. It is just that the price is around $.10 per round. Wal Mart still sells at the old price of about $.05 per round, that is why they are out of stock in just minutes after stocking, or the stock never even makes it to the shelves. The managers "buddies" get it. It is all about supply/demand and pricing. The supply here is low, the demand is high, and if you are willing to pay the inflated pricing you can buy the product.

Do y'all order powders or do they stock it near you. I think some of the bass pro sell it, but if you have to pay the Haz Mat it gets pretty expensive for small amounts. Primers are stocked at Academy, and projectiles (maybe not a huge selection, but at least something in most calibers)

I have an old Lee Classic in .270 Win, and I've seen some Lee presses for cheap, some even with dies for less than $50 used (although rarely ever in one of My calibers...), it just seems like there's no Trying it, even with a free/cheap press without being into it for a couple hundred,

Don't you have gun shops in your area? The ones around here all stock a good selection of reloading supplies, including primers and powder. They usually just stock a basic selection of bullets from Hornaday, Nosler, and some hard cast lead, plus birdshot. Buckshot is mail order. Black powder supplies are everywhere.

Anyone here ever shot or own a "Punt Gun"??

The closest I have is a Winchester 37A "goose gun" with a full choke and a 36" barrel. I sometimes take it to the trap range, and it is noticeably quieter than the shorter barrelled shotguns. I haven't hunted with it since steel shot came in. I bought it at KMart about 1974 for $39, and got pretty good with it. One of my hunting buddies commented that if an elephant had feathers I could bring it down with that old single shot. It accounted for many limit shoots in the days when a limit was 17 ducks.

A punt gun is a small cannon. Maybe you could mount it on a dolly...

Or get a friend to help.

Yes, but I try to never buy from "Gun Shops" they have such a high mark up on everything. One of the nicer places near Jacksonville is Green Acres, very good selection of ammo, but ****, $21.99 for 50 cheap FMJ 9mm Para...they actually dropped the price for me to $17.99 when I told them the exact same was $12.99 at Academy (think it's like $11.49 @ Walmart).

Some of them do have powder, but it's kind of a crap shoot on what, and price. Also, by the time you drive 50 miles, you probably could have paid Haz Mat.

The nice thing about the big stores is, no pressure to buy, or know it all clerks, it's normally not a wasted trip, and they normally are pretty cheap.

I know some people like to go to experts when they start something new, I Hate it. last thing I want when I don't know what I'm doing is some expert telling me what to do. I know I'll get some laughs from that, but it's true.
