..... I think that's it lol

My accountant has an older Powerstroke, he did the same bullet-proofing you did plus had the transmission beefed-up. I don't remember the exact amount he dropped on the rebuild but in was north of ten thousand. That was a few years ago and to date he has been running trouble free.

That is a lot, but I have heard from a few people with the 6.0 that they love their truck after being "fixed".
Hope you get a lot of miles out of yours!

Well I think we have narrowed it down to the truck that will suit our needs best. I think we both agree that the 2016 F350 Lariat diesel without the moonroof, ,but with tailgate step and hopefully 5th wheel hitch prep.

I had pricing done on the 2017 super-duty for a pretty optioned up cloth seat model, and it came in only a little higher then the 2016 lariat. We then weighed the options against each other and decided that the 2016 is where we should spend our money. Lots of that was due to the fact that the end year of a production run should be the most reliable,, and the first year of the redesign will have issues, they may be few and small, but there is still a better chance of things needing attention.

Now I only need to come to grips with spending this much money on a truck. I was hoping to wait another month or two and hope the discounts got bigger as the new models started showing up, but then noticed the fine print on the Ford website saying pricing is in effect until sept 30th. The longer I wait the less chance of finding a truck with the options I want, and my big one is no moonroof because I don't have enough headroom with it. My local dealer has 43 F350's in stock and they all have a moon roof. Looking at Ford inventory search online about 90% of them have the silly moonroof

I agree in regards to a moonroof. There's not been a single moment I've wanted a moonroof in my Super Duty.

Post pics when you get it. Congratulations!!!

I've owned one truck in my life that had a sunroof and coincidentally it was the shortest amount of time I've owned a certain truck(one year). I didn't mind the sunroof, never used it though except once or twice. Kicked myself over and over for spending $900 on that one option and swore I'd never pay for it again.

I drive my car if I want a smooth ride. You guys should ride in my '63 dump truck if you think your pickups ride rough. :D.

Trucks are supposed to be trucks,,, too bad they get outfitted like cars. Then people started thinking they should drive and ride like cars. :D

Next they will make fancy tractors with cruise control...... Oh wait!
I agree.
I've two 7.3 350's an '88 E350 and an '02 F350 dually. My BIL owns an older GM dually and an '07 Ram diesel. His vehicles ride smooth without a load. I need about a ton in my 350's for them to ride smooth. My dually rides real smooth and is leveled with 2 tons in the bed. If I need a smooth ride to pickup groceries I'll drive something else.

I do really want to see what the new ford super duty brings about, but timing may prove bad. We would like a new truck prior to our summer vacation so we can drag our camper along with us.

For us this truck is going to be purely recreational, and that is why the ride quality means a lot to me. All three brands of heavy duties will more then exceed our needs, we could probably get by with a max payload egoboost F150.

<snip>

I'm amazed you didn't go with a heavily discounted, off the lot F150 for your vacation and then wait two years to pick up the newer style F350.

Moon roofs are for lunatics. :D

I like my sunroof. I rarely open the glass but I like the light in the early mornings and evenings. I wouldn't necessarily pay extra for one but my truck came with it and I enjoy it. It is nice when parked somewhere sitting in the truck with the engine off to open all the windows and the sunroof for air flow.

I am not saying I wouldn't like the sun roof. I think it would be great. The issue is that it takes away two inches of head room and when in the drivers seat the left half of my head is pressed into the ceiling.

My 2007 F250 has a moon roof. It does sacrifice some head room. What sucks is that mine was packaged with a convenience package including the keypad, autolocks, autolamps, and keyless entry. I had no choice and I ordered the truck. I do use it occasionally but could live without it.
