CUT vs Skid Steer

You step on the bucket and basically fall backwards in the seat. You must be old.

I guess it depends on the tractor as well. My cab tractor is a pain to get into compared to a skid steer. But my old 8n is pretty easy to jump on.

My V417 cab is easy to step into:

Unless when compressing a brush pile and I jump out to take a picture:

Does it compress brush better with the wheels 3 feet off the ground vs 3 inches?

No, but you can't see that both wheels are off the ground at 3 inches.

That isn't the V417 compact telehandler, it is my wife's Toolcat. :D

For those newbies that haven't seen it, here it is with the 7' brush hog. Don't drool on your keyboard.:)

O.K., that post with pics just confirms I did a lousy job of life planning!

I have been helping a friend clear land with a Gehl 9800 pound skid steer. No surprise it beats the heck out of a tractor for loader work, but a tractor is much better suited for the average landowner. My tractor does the task I do and the majority of the work I have seen done in the seat time thread better than a skid steer.
